  1. Hi Everyone Since a few of you have asked and are looking for places to hire & train in agility I thought I would let you all know of a place in Cranbourne South close to KCC park that has agiltiy ground to hire and also off private lessons @ $20.00 per hour. Here is the website with all the contact info http://awesomepawsgrooming.com/AwesomePaws/Agility.html Cheers
  2. Hey jules I have instructed both you and Brock a number of time and i think you are selling him short...He will play games and he does get exited i have seen it with my own eyes. When you run fast and encourage him with an excited voice he runs so much faster but when you put in 50% then so does he.some dogs need 110% excitement all the time. We are training Ace our young dog and let me tell you its HARD work but with a lot of training playing games such as Susan Garrett crate games, ready set go game, all with different toys all the time different sounding toys we are always changing them around his motivation is getting so much better he gets so excited to go to the agility ring now and is proforming so much fast its quite amazing...Its hard work and you have to really want to get the drive going...we look like absolute idiots when doing it and boy does it take it out of ya but Ace just loves it..... don't reside to the fact you think Brock is not like most border collies i dont believe that for a second cause i can definitely see it in him. i can get him playing and excited and i have seen you do it too. He is not as Crazy & massively high drive like my girls Kirra and Nakita but thats not always a good thing hahahahah. but know he does have it in him Brock is very eager to please and will get faster if and only if you put in 100% and run with him fast ALL the time not sometimes. Talk to him while you are running get the excitement level going.im not saying its a walk in the park its dam hard work but once he gets going he will be unstoppable.... and we have all told you millions of times Brock would love novice and have no problems there is no reason what so ever not to put him in a comp no reason at all... Stress less play games keep it fun even if you keep it short but go nuts have fun and keep that excitement level right up there have more confidence in yourself you really can do it.
  3. so so true with me anyway  but good on you all for coming i for one think its going to be fantastic!!!!
  4. I don’t have any video or photos from the nationals but its really not that much different from a normal trial its just there are SO many more people and dogs I do believe there is a massive misconception that because its the Nationals you need to be fantastic in order to compete and I think that scares a lot of people away....But I personally don’t believe that is the case at all….no matter how good a dog might be all it takes is one little bar knocked and that’s it!!! I entered my dog last year and we had only been in 4 trials, she was a feral nut but we went we had a absolute ball we even nearly got a clear round in novice agility but the a frame was wet and she slipped off….so you just never know!!! My advise if you have never been to a trial it go check it out see what you think!!! Maybe enter and see how you go!!!! You will never know if you don't give it a go
  5. thanks but yeah a little more weight needs to be lost first but we are really trying but her jumping on the bench and steeling half a loaf of bread or going into the chicken house and taking the eggs isn’t helping the situation at all!!!!! i cant wait to see kinta im so angry im not going to see her run
  6. it might be a little hard to run 8 months pregnant  mad dogs there not the easiest to run are they but fun never the less????? Sometime kirra is just WAY too fast for me lol never a dull moment that is for sure!!!!
  7. Hi Everyone Just wondering how many of your DOLers are going to the agility nationals this year in august!!! I just sent mine in the other day!!! Early bird special and all . I cant wait to see all the other states and how their dogs are. I’m kind of new to agility I have been doing it for 13 months now with my border collies. We went to South Australia national last year and we had the best fun it was incredible some of the other dogs just watching them was so amazing....We entered  well lets just say we had fun . but maybe this year we can be a little more competitive MAYBE!!!
  8. I'm going too... is it your first time for leo in gamblers he will love it and judging by training monday he will have a lot more speed!!!!
  9. Well great news.... i have been putting pineapple in her food and no poo munching since so it would seem the pineapple did the trick!!!! unless she just go over the whole poo eating fascination either way im happy!!!!
  10. oh thanks snoopy 21... i found the forum i usally search and never find anything but it has some great idea... thanks agian... and yeah its really is gross cause she brings it inside to eat
  11. My 4 month old border collie pup is starting to eat poo, her own and our other dogs.... i was just wondering if she is would be missing anything in her diet....or if this is just a puppy thing..Its just all my other dog never did it. maybe she is just special
  12. i got a light weight tunnel from agilityclick and its the best so easy to move around.......
  13. I entered my girl into agility for the first time and she was wild she did things she had never done before. We have trained in a number of different place indoor outdoor different people and she is a gem does everything asked of her, top of her class. Her trial came I didn’t have high expectation at all but I did however have expectations and I could not believe how different she was. She was FAST a speed I have never seen in training, so I think that sometimes just entering into a comp is beneficial because your dog can do things that you never expected. Now in training again I can not get that same speed so I don’t know if she is just in a feral mood or if she will only do that in comps. So I will be entering her again to see what happens!!!!! Then I need to figure out why and what see needs to be trained on. I did pick up on things that we needed to improve on so that’s what we have been doing......
  14. Well my dog is CRAZY for the tunnel she LOVES it she ignores everything jumps anything that is put before the tunnel and dives for it. Now it is my fault in a BIG way, she always loved the tunnel so when she did something right I would send her to the tunnel as a treat ( What a Big MISTAKE that was) but now I need to kind of undo what I have done anyone has any suggestion on how I can do this?????
  15. well zoe is a lot better she walks better and she is heaps more stable she is not 100% the other night she was on the couch and her muscle on her side tensed and she yelped we are taking her to a physiotherapist but we need a referral so she is going back to the vets tonight. Its like a nerve problem but we will see tomorrow night is her appointment. but the chiropractor did make a difference anyway I will keep you posted.
  16. Yeah good point Ci we did think that our other dog might and ran into her at some stage cause her is a BIG boy but the chiro would have picked up on that i would have thought.
  17. Yeah they are still a little wobbly not as much as they were but they still are i must say i do agree it realy does seem like its in her head..... yeah she is fed supercoat dry food with raw minced beef her ears have been checked but i noticed last night that she holds her left ear down and i sniffed it and it wasnt bad but it did have a light smell to it. The vets checked it a weekago now and said they were fine there is no dischage but yeah a little smell..... i talked to mum before and she said she is not as wobbly on her back legs anymore but she is still not normal....i dont know what to do if only dogs could talk and tell us whats wrong......
  18. oh i think thats the one were we got her CEA DNA test done......thanks for that
  19. ok so we took Zoe to the Chiropractor and her back as out in 3 places so that was fixed but there is still something wrong today when I saw her she was turning in a circle and it was like she could not stop she kept turning and she keeps her head low.... who would I go to to get a second opinion just another vet????
  20. hi Eryn funny you should say it sound like a muscular/skeletal conditionbecasue thats what i said to her today.. the vet suggested that if the antibiotics dont work she will have to have a MIR on her head.....so it sounds like thats what might have to happen.....
  21. My mum has a 3 year old Border collie and there is something wrong with her she is pacing every night she will not settle down she just walks up and down up and down driving all us crazy. She is eating normal We took her to the vet and they put her on valium to calm her down so to stop her from pacing we also noticed she is wobbly on her back legs and she only turns clockwise not anti clock wise. The vets have not idea what’s wrong they said is not an inner ear infection cause her ears a clear. She has also been put on an anti biotic but they don’t seem to be doing anything. We have stopped giving her the valium cause it just made her too dopy....She does not have CEA has she has been DNA tested and she is not losing her sight.. If anyone has any suggestion or anything I would love to hear them.........
