I love everything about dogs, especially dog nutrition
  1. Here are some good links. But for when will be the good time? Your heart will know, you will know when your furry friend is not happy anymore because it hurt soo much, you will be able to read it in his eyes.... How to explain to kids http://www.la-spca.org/pre-katrina/pet_los..._explaining.htm http://www.la-spca.org/pre-katrina/pet_los...pe_mourning.htm http://www.pet-loss.net/emotions.html http://www.la-spca.org/pre-katrina/pet_los...pe_grieving.htm http://www.la-spca.org/pre-katrina/pet_los...ing_friends.htm http://www.la-spca.org/pre-katrina/pet_loss/cope_reasons.htm http://www.pet-loss.net/euthanasia.html Rainbow bridge http://www.la-spca.org/pre-katrina/pet_los...nbow_bridge.htm Song "Precious little friend" http://www.petloss.com/precious.htm Quality of life http://www.pet-loss.net/quality.html http://www.pet-loss.net/funeral.html http://www.pet-loss.net/guilt.html http://www.pet-loss.net/memorial.html I hope that this can help you in this hard time
  2. I would also recommend to have the thyroid check.
  3. I wouldn't worry, large breed puppy food are made exactly so it would make them grow slower, and it could take as long as 2 years before the growing stop in large breed ,the slower the better. Very often breeder suggest to owner to change for an adult food(in large breed) but the problem with this is, the puppy has to eat more and sometime they are not able to eat that much so there intake in nutrients are less, and sometimes by eating more adult food the amount of calcium/phosohorus end up to be the same as a normal puppy food. Personnaly I like better large breed puppy food for large breed puppy this kind of food has been especially formulated for them with the right amount of nutrients.
  4. Don't forget that it can be food intolerance or food allergy, the two are different http://www.fedupwithfoodadditives.info/fac...Factallergy.htm
  5. Could it be a zinc problem(zinc malabsorption) because this is a problem that husky have. An imbalanced diet could cause this.
  6. I will keep crossing my fingers
  7. It is really expensive is Australia Outch!!!!
  8. Do you guys have that brand of dog food in Australia? This is one of the best kibbles on the market(United States and Canada) and I was wondering if you guys have it down there. (I know that it depend of the dogs but here lots of people use it including me) http://www.naturapet.com/display.php?d=home-tab
  9. I like a little help from those chart: Adult dog http://www.purina.com/dogs/health/AdultBodyCondChart.pdf Puppy dog http://www.purina.com/dogs/health/PuppyBodyCondChart.pdf there is also this onehttp://www.purina.com/dogs/health/BodyCondition.aspx I don't like Purina dog food but I like their charts
  10. I will cross my fingers for you that it is just a minor thing axxl
  11. The same thing happen to my standard poodle, since the bottom teeth were the baby teeth they had to be remove( those teeth are long from the inside, we were surprise when the vet gave them to us) by the vet to let the adult teeth out and she's fine but by the look of it for your dog it seems a little worst then my dog. Those tooth are about 3 to 4 times long of what you see in the mouth, they are extremely long There is one link http://www.dentalvet.com/Encyclopedia/P00352_SC01096.htm Another one http://www.spinone.com/TeethMalocclusion.htm http://arbl.cvmbs.colostate.edu/hbooks/pat...ic/dogpage.html
  12. Be careful about egg, the yolk can be given raw or cook but the white should be cook because egg white contain avidin witch work against the biotin that is contain in the yolk. http://www.mercola.com/2005/feb/9/raw_eggs.htm
  13. I don't agree with how Iams do their testing on animals http://www.iamscruelty.com/
  14. I don't give my dogs greenies or rawhide because they can stick to the dogs trachea, stomach and as you can see colon/intestine. Just let soak a rawhide in water to see how stiky that thing is after. And also the amount of product they use to make rawhide
  15. I know many people that feed Barf and raw meaty bones here in Canada, I know about lots of study Dodds and Wynn study, Crissey Swanson Lintzwnich Brewer Slifka study, Silver Frazier Mauel Styler study, Kintner study, Stone Chengappa Oberst Babbert McVey Hennessat study, Newman Veith study, Pottenger study..... I'm sorry but I always question where the info is coming from, I love nutrition and I'm very open about any type of feeding.
