  1. Try the Bass brushes. Cheaper than Chris Christensen and good quality. Available from Petnetwork
  2. I and a number of my friends use clipper World for both scissor and blade sharpening and find their service excellent
  3. Blackmores make a Manuka based dressing http://clipperworld.com.au/blackmores-paw-pure-animal-wellbeing/paw-manuka-wound-gel-100g-p3542.html
  4. Go the Wahl site http://www.unityagencies.com.au/images/stories/PDF%20Documents/authorised_repair_agents.pdf I would recommend three places in Australia for sharpening, they are Clipper World, Feather Edge and M&L Scissor Service in Queensland. All of these are Wahl repair agents.
  5. Best value blades are Geib Buttercut best quality blades are Heiniger or Aesculap. To keep them sharp make sure they are not over tensioned (this is usually done by the sharpener), keep them oiled, running cool and try to clip a clean coat.
  6. South Eastern suburbs try Clipper World in Cranbourne they stock good solid tables at a reasonable price.
  7. Try the Paws by Blackmores. They have done a lot of research on skin conditions and treatments.
  8. The Heiniger cordless has a free battery offer from Clipper World for the next couple of weeks.
  9. Try Clipper World as their repair charges are reasonable.
  10. Thank you :) I'll check out the links and have a look at the pupkus dryers :) --Lhok Go to Petnetwork. They have the Lazor RX Dryers. They are the same as the Pupkus but cheaper.
  11. It is probably worth purchasing a Lazor RX dryer for the $195 as these are sold by reputable dealers and hence covered by a warranty
  12. Use these dryers and when they fail throw them away as they are not worth getting them repaired at this price. Also disregard the wattage rating as almost all quote figures are not true as there is no regulation or policing on these dryers from China. The true power of a dryer is it's current rating. Dryers such as Oldfield made here in Australia have a current rating in amps on the nameplate. Thanks for the info. So what's a good current rating then? 10amps is the maximum allowable in Australia. Generally twin motor dryers take around 8 to 10amps

  14. Pupkus do not make tables as they are sourced from China and can be purchased from many other suppliers such as Petnetwork
  15. Dressed Up Doggies makes Australian made quality coats. http://www.dressedupdoggies.com.au/
  16. Our vet has recommended the PAW Animal Wellbeing products by Blackmores. Has anyone here tried them?
  17. The best brand to get in either guillotine or scissor style is Resco
  18. I contacted Clipper World and they were very helpful. The three small attachments clip on and allow you to cut different length and the Aculock clips on and when you push the button the comb slides forward allowing you to cut a variety of lengths up to about 10mm. If this does not make sense contact them they seem to know what they talking about.
  19. If you are after a #7 blade then this kit is ideal My link
  20. Switched recently to the Isle of Dog range and have been extremely happy
  21. you can get a stainless steel base folding grooming table with a grooming arm from clipper world for $140
  22. The Lazor RX dryers are equivalent to the Pupkus dryers and cheaper. I spoke to one of the leading show vendors in Melbourne who is a qualified Electrician, they originally sold the Pupkus brand but now sell the Lazor RX as it is the same quality but cheaper. I personally didn't find the Lazor RX to have as much "puff" as the Pupkus I purchased and the Pupkus was cheaper. I also purchased the stand. Purchased direct from Pupkus and it was way cheaper than purchasing from other vendors. I have worked repairing dryers and the Sallyair, Pupkus and Lazor RX all have the same motors. The only difference is the name plate.

  24. Most of mine are Osters as they were my preferred brand of clipper 13 or so years ago. I've had them for so long I can't remember where I bought them. I do have quite a few 30's though, Universal brand http://clipperbladesharpening.webs.com/clipperblades.htm I am not sure where I got my Andis blades from as I can't remember getting them either. To be honest I don't even notice what brands they all are. I probably should pay attention so I can work out a preference as I am sure some are better than others but I don't really notice so long as they cut well and don't sound funny. Today is the first time I've bought a blade in quite a few years. I mainly use 30's as I mostly use combs even for short clips - I prefer the finish. My Wahl clippers have been going strong for years with no issue but next decade around I might look at the Andis ones as quite a few people seem to be favouring them these days. I get sore wrists though and find the Wahl light for this, someone said on here a while back though that the Andis are lighter? Andis are definitely heavier than the Wahl. I would recommend the Geib Buttercut blades not expensive and come highly recommended by Melanie Newman former teacher ADC and master groomer. You can get a #30 online in Aust for $28.
