  1. Sounds like Kennel Cough to me, similar thing happen with my dog, just started doing it in the middle of the night, kept her calm and that but it was like she had a coughing fit at least every hour and would sometimes hock up saliva, a trip to the vet and medication and she was fine, apparently there are different forms of Kennel Cough so best to go to the vet. Cheers,
  2. I've taken malika to the vet and the vet thinks there could be something wrong with her knee or even possibly her hips but will need to have x-rays to find out. But she has put malika on anti inflamatory medication for the next week or so to see how she goes first as it could even justal be a muscle and she actually seems better already but will have to wait and see how she goes in the next couple of days. Cheers
  3. Hi everyone, Thanks for all your comments. Malika seems to be doing a bit better the last couple of days but still limping. I'm taking her to the vet tomorrow morning, after posting on here I just think I need to find out what it is to be safe rather than sorry later. Seems the best thing as a few of you seem to have had worse problems from leaving it. It looks like it could be arthritis, HD or a crucial ligament. I'm pretty sure the vet will want to x-ray her though, she's a tough little girl! Hasn't wimped or anything but does seem a bit more clingy lately! I will let u know what the vet says. Cheers Quills

  5. What is Bowen? I have never heard of it, it is used for treating arthritis?
  6. Thanks girls. I meant that her parents had excellent hip scores trace, unfortunately I think I will have to get her x-rayed but wanted to avoid it if I could cause it is just so expensive. Cause she's such a big girl if there is ever a problem with her she has to be knocked out to have a look! I know there are these types of problems with large breeds but didn't expect it to happen before she is too! Cheers Quills
  7. Hello I have a Bullmastiff which is about to turn 2 in a couple of weeks, I think she may be suffering from arthritis or maybe starting to get hip problems. For the last week she has had trouble walking after sitting down for awhile and she limps on one of her legs. Once she walks around a bit she is alright. I have checked her legs and they seem fine which makes me think it is internal. Is it possible for a dog to get arthritis so young? Has anyone had similar problems or a dog with arthritis around this age or do you think it could be something else? I will take her to the vet soon if it doesn't get better and will keep an eye on her but find it strange as she is young and she also had an excellent hip score from her breeder. Cheers Quills
