  1. Have taken a dog for a massage this morning, and I gather that there are massage/vibrating dog beds that you can buy. I'm not having much, well any really, luck searching for one. Any advice/recommendations much appreciated.
  2. This very site has just what you are looking for, an events calendar for all events. And of course Sydney Royal is only a few weeks away. During the Royal there are also quite a few "specialties", not sure whether there are events for Pugs & Frenchies. ETA: https://www.dogzonline.com.au/event-diary/list.asp
  3. Thanks heaps, some suggestions there that would never have occurred to me!
  4. I've never made iceblocks for my dogs, they usually chill inside in the aircon, so I am after suggestions as to what sort of treats go well in iceblocks. TIA, Jill
  5. Lol Jules, you should so become a Real Estate agent!!

  7. Can anyone recommend a good place to buy one of these online? Or alternatively a shop in Western Sydney (near Penrith). TIA
  8. Yes! I have one I bought from Kuranda Dog Beds in Queensland a few years ago now and it is fantastic. Made in such a way that it really is chew proof. Took a while for my dogs to get used to it, but now they love it!
  9. Isabella (Dilute Liver) The same dilution gene that causes a black dog to become blue also causes a liver dog to become isabella (aka lilac), which is a pale greyish brown. Dilution and liver are both recessive and relatively rare, so isabella is a rarely seen colour. It is, however, the colour of the Weimaraner, and also occurs occasionally in a handful of other breeds (any of the breeds in the list above which carry liver will come in isabella, although if both liver and dilution are rare in the breed anyway then isabella dogs may be barely known or even never reported). An isabella dog will have the genotype bbdd (homozygous for liver, homozygous for dilution).
  10. OT, BUT! oooooooooooooooooh another road trip, another great thread. When, where and what for???????????????????
  11. Fabulous pics by the way - dogs look extremely athletic and very keen!
  12. Nah Bec, not even the same breed ...................................... HAHAHAHAHA!
  13. Hey WL, I just sent you a PM, I just discovered we have mutual friends!!
  14. Not true!!!! I am following Willow with great interest, had hoped to get out to EP last weekend but it didn't happen. Poocow is an experienced exhibitor and she is right, just keep getting out there and giving it a go. Hopefully I will meet you and Willow soon. Looking forward to the Bungendore pic when you receive it!
  15. Friends have imported several GSD's from Germany. They used VCK Live Animal Logistics who supply the airline approved crate, and fly the dogs from Amsterdam because it is cheaper from there apparently. They used Malaysian Airlines but that may have changed. Dogs had to spend 180 days in country of origin (ie Germany) from date of rabies test. Quarantine in Australia was 30 days, however this has now changed, and I think the 180 days in Germany may be a little less now too. You can get all this info from the AQIS site. Hope this helps. I do recommend using a shipping agent though, because if there are delays to the flight, or the paperwork is not correct, they will sort it out and look after your dog until it boards the plane.
  16. Wow!! Is it that exciting to come to your place!! ;) Love it, I thought it was just me who read it like that.
  17. LOL, when I read this the first time I thought you meant you put the people outside with a bone..... the mind boggles.
  18. Oh sorry WL, I so didn't make myself clear at all, did I. I am told it "deletes" urine smells for both dogs and cats. Hope that helps!
  19. Hi Willow, there was a thread on this topic not so long ago - http://www.dolforums...y-toilet-ideas/ I am following your ESS puppy's show career with interest, I might even get to meet her in person over the weekend. ETA: There is a product called "Delete" which I am about to try, which gets good reports from people I know who use it. It's available from the Petecetera Van at EP (which is why I will be out there over the weekend :D)
  20. I vote Sutherland! :D There are a lot of shows at EP during July which feature international judges, it's a big month..... Tossing up between doing Sutherland Shire at EP or Bungendore lol on the 11-12th of July. I cant decide and being new I have no idea which judges to go under.
  21. Thanks dogslife and others who have contributed. In fact this has come about because of some unfortunate dog attacks which happened close together, according to the local paper. I believe there is a group from DogsNSW meeting with a dog-friendly Councillor in the next day or so. If anyone is interested, this is on the DogsNSW FB page. ETA: by "close" I mean in time.
  22. She's gorgeous. When are you showing her at EP? Sorry, I know that doesn't answer your question, but I couldn't help myself..... :D
