Playing catch up this weekend Week 14 - Mia Mia

LOL - very funny pic huga! Love the pug

Thanks all. Impatiens, I upgraded from the D80 and absolutely love the new camera. The only thing I don't like on it is the dial you have to turn to change from single shot to multi shot to remote etc. I find it a bit difficult to use and certainly can't do it with the camera to my eye. Other than that small complaint, I'm thoroughly enjoying using it :D

Over and over again I read on various online forums that the Greyhound Adoption Program (Vic) will put to sleep any senior dogs that enter our Program. I would like to state, once and for all, that this claim is COMPLETELY UNTRUE and it is sad that there are groups that feel the need to spread such nasty rumours about our Program. We have NEVER, nor would we EVER, either deny entry to a senior dog or put a senior dog to sleep simply because of his or her age. If anyone would like to discuss this, or any of our other policies, we'd welcome contact from them via email [email protected] or phone 5799 0166.

Hi all, Just got back from a week in Tassie. I took along my new Nikon D7000 to start to learn how to use it. Most of these photos were taken with just the 50mm prime lens. http://www.flickr.com/photos/64486163@N06/sets/72157629346712162/with/7033306115/ Larissa My link

Week 12 - the lines I cross....

LOL - spent hours yesterday listening to Augie March and thought I might use them as my theme for 2013. Another cool pic Huga!
-
That's great! What do you use to mount your torches on?
-
Wow Huga fabulous! How did you do it?
-
Congratulations Huga!

Week ten - trying to learn how to use the new macro (struggling !) Week eleven - Autumn makes me want to...
-
I went with the D7000 because it's a Nikon (so all my gear from my D80 will fit) and it's supposed to be very good for low light sports photography :) . That being said, I'm in no way a camera expert
-
I finally have my Nikon D7000 and so far just love it :D . I'm looking forward to having a proper play with it this weekend. And I have a new respect for macro photographers... I'm finding using the new macro lens a challenge

FedEx are driving me mental at the moment! The camera has been here for three days and they have apparently made two delivery attempts without being able to find my house. No-one else has any trouble finding my house. I then requested that they leave it at the post office and they said No, they can't do that. Yet if we have items delivered to work that's exactly what they do! So then I said can you get the driver to phone me when he's in Redesdale and I can give him directions and they said no, the drivers don't carry mobiles . Urgh. I think I'll now have to drive down to the depot to collect it myself. Frustrating

Fantastic photos everyone . I love dropping by this thread to see what is new. Huga, love your last three and big for being brave enough to do the bath shot.

Thanks KA! Went with DWI and they are usually pretty fast, so it should be here next week . My first macro lens :D -
Just wanted to share with others who will understand my excitement  . I've just placed my order for the Nikon D7000, the Tokina 12-24 f4.0, and the Tamron 90mm f2.8 macro. Yaay!!!
-
Ah, OK! Good point re insurance ;) . Thanks! Seems I'd be better off going with DWI then seeing as they are that much cheaper. And I maybe slightly altered what it would all cost when I told my husband
-
I know, feeling very lucky!!! Annie, how do they work the invoicing to avoid GST? And what would happen if I had a problem with the camera or lens if I bought through DWI?
-
I'm lucky enough to have a husband willing to buy me a new camera and some lens for my birthday :D . From CameraPro, the total is $2678. For the same items from DWI it is $2211. I've bought from DWI before and been happy, but I was only spending about $500 at the time. Now I don't know which one I should buy from. Any guidance would be very greatly appreciated :)

Will be back later to comment on all the fantastic new photos. Week nine - it's peaceful in the orchard
