  1. Thanks Helen. It could be "Vitiligo" .will still take him to the vet just to make sure it is nothing else.I have been using zinc cream on it .
  2. Hi guys , One of our Maremmas is loosing the black pigment around his eyes and nose and also his lips. He is only 4 yo and always had black skin . I am booking him into see the vet ,but thought i would ask here first as he is not a good traveler. Has anyone had any experience with this and what could be the cause ? Thanks
  3. My old dad (hes 73) has a maltese and he clips him himself even in winter and he just puts a warm coat on him ,in summer we clip the belly of our marrema to cool him down.So if my dad can clip and keep his dog tidy anyone can ,maybe people need educating before the purchase a high matinence oodle, methinks some sellers of these breeds are misleading people......
  4. When our marrema was a pup our dobe would put him in his place and sometimes he would run off yelping and she would end up with a mouthful of fur, this went on until recently Bundy is nearly 2 yrs old and he is the boss ,he started to stand up for himself although he didn't start any blues with Elly our dobe ,she is 5 yrs old, they now seem to have come to an agreement,no more fights, I think your girl is just asserting herself over the newbie ,puppies tend to yelp at the drop of a hat anyway so as long as she is not getting stuck into the pup i would just keep an eye on them.
  5. I use vetproductsdirect but it looks by the link that pp is cheaper so i might give them a try next time. Thanks
  6. We had friends who had a chi who had fits they bought a cavalier puppy from us and it made a big difference to the little dog,she was on medication aswell and quite aged.I hope you have better luck with a new vet they can be very frustrating at times.
  7. We were given ivermectin(sheep wormer) by our vet to treat dermadectic mange and it worked but was not approved this was a few years ago .Our pup survived and has never had another outbreak. This was given orally. If in doubt check with your vet as we were told it may or maynot kill our dog but that was the risk we took. This was given once a day for a few weeks.
