  1. No, its in teh breeders coade of ethics, all pups from the litter MUST be registered. Ether on Main or Limited Papers. Anything esle is dodgy!!
  2. Give him nothing...........that poor bitch on a chain...........those poor pups..............he should be whipped.
  3. Eating the placenta is all a natural part of whelping. I always let my Chihuahua's eat them after I have had a quick look at it.
  4. DO NOT GIVE HIM THE PAPERS!!!!!! He does not need them now...............you only need papers for live dogs.............he is not untitled to them now.......you also have the right to ask for the dead pup back.....no pup, no refund.
  5. I think the ANKC have not long posted the legal ages for breeding most breeds. Check out their website.
  6. I think the ANKC just the other day put out the new rules about dogs being sent to WA to whelp and be tail docked then returned. Check the ANKC site for details.
  7. Werribee Victoria Micro & Desexed - $12.00 Micro Only $36.00 You pay a lot more over that side KAte!!
  8. Do you have the link to the facebook page? This needs to be reported to facebook and this person needs to know that in no uncertain terms what he has said is a crime and chargable by law!
  9. Thats like asking how long is a piece of string? Personal preference is a vast and often very fickle thing. All new things take time for people to come around too. Dog breeds are no exception. I wouldnt import a breed based on 'will they do well here" Id import because its what I want to do and what I felt for the breed. Dogs are not "keep up the Jones items". Go with your feelings.
  10. Where are you? Vitality is a great deal, but you can only get it directly from the factory in Naval Base WA. My dogs & I have been through them all!!................I have never had a problem with Supercoat and it has less salt than some of those other top quality brands. My dogs and i have not looked back.
  11. I thought 6, 12 & 16 weeks was appropriate. I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that canine diseases are on the increase?
  12. A bitch whelps not from the date of mating but from the date of ovulation. So this can put your dates out by a few days. If she ovulated after mating, then she will go over. If she ovulated before mating then she will be earlier.
  13. Better to take the whole famuly and not have needed to, than to only take the pup and Mum be needed!!
  14. If a pup or adult for that matter has an upset tummy there is a reason for it. Hiding it with buscopan and the like is not going to help. Is there constipation or diarrhea? Slippery Elm is best thing for upset tummy’s. Get it from the health food shop, it can be added regularly to food or add water to make a paste and syringe it, add some honey to make it more palatable.
  15. I start giving raspberry leaf tables from the 6 week mark. Work out the dose. It helps the uterus and also with pain. I must have for any breeder.
  16. If you are deriving a profitable income from the breeding/selling of your dogs then you can be taxed. I don’t know any breeder (except back yard breeders) who ever make a profit. If you have 10 breeding canines then you are considered a business breeder. The ATO should be told about these breeders.
  17. I just Googled it, lots of sites come up, you need to go through them. A great one is the images on the google list.
  18. I prefer the air line crates. Get one from the air line you are flying the pup over with.
  19. Just get one of those pedigree breeds. We strongly discourage cross breed mongrels.
  20. That is gorgeous.............she is doing because she can!! Maybe she was wondering what all the fuss about it is with the pups and thought she would check it out. I dont think you can stop her without upsetting the apple cart so to speak. She only has a few more weeks before weaning and it eventually dries up, so dont worry.
  21. It depends on a few things..............did the bitch lose the litter? It could also be ovarian polyps or similar.
  22. If I recall, here in Victoria, a dog must be micro chipped prior to council registration. Most breeders (in Vic) don’t microchip before sale because it’s an extra cost and the breeder then has to transfer the chip into the new owners name. Let’s face it, new owners hardly ever transfer in to their names so at the risk of the new owner not doing it, the breeder doesn’t chip the pup. Therefore leaving the full responsibility up the new owners. I suggest to my puppy buyers that they use my name as an emergency contact when chipping. In SA a pup can be chipped in the new owners name, now how convenient would that be here in Vic??
  23. I went over to Tassie in October and my Vet had to worm the dogs himself and then gave me the stat dec, it has to be done "within" 14 days of arrival in tassie so it can be done a couple days before. A phone call to your vet will tell you what to do.
  24. you have a few options, be honest, or say the pup has shown some health problems and needs further testing, tell them you are required to give them back their deposit until the testing is complete. Hopefully they will go elsewhere in the mean time and you never hear from them again. But be prepared to continue on the lie if they do keep calling back.
