  4. I bought some black cat shapes from bunnings to scare away the birds. They are 3 black silhouettes of cats in different positions with green glass marbles for eyes. They where pretty cheap to, under $10, I tried to find them on the site to give you a linky but there not on it yet. They worked for us, day 3 and no birds in my garden beds Yeah!!
  5. Here are some pics of my old by Wallace he was around 18 in these pics, he had a full, happy, healthy life, I miss him every day.
  6. I have 6 family dogs at home at the moment (2 Chi's are my my daughters). My old flat coat is the only one who is storm phobic, Moraig is 9 now and has been gradually getting worse and worse. She's not too bad if my husband is home - apparently he can keep you safe from storms - but if he's on night shift all hell is broken loose. Its not unusual to have everyone in the house out of bed, she will barge into rooms and jump on the sleeper to come and join the storm party. We do have a sedative from the vet but sometimes you don't know a storm is coming. Mo has also eaten the back door once when we went out for dinner on NYE and the neighbors had early fireworks, at least she wants to get in the house not runaway. Mo is generally a scardy type dog she seems to develop little fears and then get over them - the latest one is bees - hear a bee buzzing - time to act like a wild horse on the lead.
  7. The lady who grooms at Pluto Pups pet store in Baulkham Hills shopping center shows cockers, so I'm sure she'll be able to do him.
  8. KInd of a sad thread Ailsa - Mini Foxie 19 years - died at home - heart Wallce - Jack Russell 18 years - PTS - he was still in good overall health but he had been deaf since he was sixteen and when his sight went - we were unable to leave him alone as he got very distressed, very sad and I still tear up when I think of him, he was just such a great dog. Craig - Mini Foxie - 4 years - road accident.
  9. That was great so it was, thanks for posting.
  10. An iphone shot of my Carrie and Jasper - all ready for chistmassy night out.
  11. Hi, we are in Sydney - but my daughter who lives in Brisbane is looking for a kennel for her two borders while she comes home for chrissy. She is a bit obsessed about her pups, and would like personal recommendations for her babies care. She lives in Forest Lake but I'm sure she will be happy to travel.

  13. As a human dental hygienist I don't see how this could possibly work, the way the plaque adheres to teeth it an only be removed my mechanical action (teeth cleaning). Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings but maybe dog plaque is different to human plaque
  14. My darling old boy got his wings today he was deaf for a few years and when his eyes finally gave way we had to make the sad decision. Wallace was a brilliant dog brave, and full of fun. He was a wonderful companion to my two sons and showed how great it is to share your life with a dog. Goodbye Wal Wal we are so lucky to have had you in our lives.
  15. I have the purple Sallyair on this page its the best dryer I've ever worked with and the price seems reasonable, this site should have grooming tables also. http://www.wooferwares.com.au/dryers,tables,te.html
  16. My niece has moved up to Queensland with her 4 month old Border Collie - Lorna she's looking to join a training school for basic obedience and possibly Dog Sports if the pup works out for that. She's currently living on Tambourine Mountain and is moving to around Springfield Lake area. She is willing to travel though, and would prefer weekend classes. She has NO experience with dog training and I don't want her to be turned off.

  18. We introduced crates to our lot as older dogs my then 8 year old wouldn't stay out of them and it made it very easy to crate train the dogs. My son was so into crates he called my nephews cot - the baby crate :D .
  19. I'm so sorry, this is such a tragedy for Jed many tears have been shed here. Stay strong Jed, you'll need to be strong for when you wake up to this dreadful news.
  20. I'm at my wits end with my two oldies in the last 3 months they both seem to have forgot that have been housetrained for the last 18 years. They are let out whenever they ask but even though they go outside I'm still cleaning up number ones and twos in the laundry and main bathroom, this isn't so bad and I can forgive them this one. However my old boy (18 year old JRT) has started lifting his leg on the lounge and we have wood laminate which is staring to lift a bit, the floors where only done last year and its driving me crazy. I've tried a baby gate on the laundry at night but his screaming was keeping everyone up (he's deaf so I don't think he can hear himself and he sound like a wolf pack when he gets going). So I would like to limit what they drink at night and in the evenings but my OH thinks this would be cruel. I did try a belly band with Wallace but he ripped it off straight away. I clean the areas with Urine Off or Urine stop every morning. The old girl (nearly 20 year old Mini Foxie) will let me know when she wants out but will poo in the bathroom. The JRT was crate trained when he was younger but he he has a freak out now if I try to shut it up. Does anyone have any ideas? washing the floors each morning is getting me down. Sorry for the long ramble but the peeing and pooing is starting to send me a bit nuts.
  21. I've emailed them quite a few times with different email addresses and no reply
  22. After much fighting with picasa here is a pic of Moraig and me, also small son hiding behind us.
  23. http://www.shootag.com.au/ This is supposed to work for 4 months creating an electromagnetic field around the dog and preventing fleas and tics. Is this a case of "If it sounds to good to be true - then it isn't true?. I hate putting chemicals on my dog and my Mothers poodle has been burned by Advantage and Advocate.
  24. Wallace -after William Wallace (braveheart) Ailsa - an island off the coast in Scotland called Ailsa Craig Moraig -my best friend is called Sara but we call her Sez anyway I wanted to call the pup Sara but she had a bit of a freak about that, so Moraig is Scottish Gaelic for Sara.
  25. Aww no he was such a great dog, he lived a happy useful life.
