  1. One for the Roosters supporters Nah but seriously i've seen BYB 'rare' blue staffy/amstaffs on sale for $2000 !! you see it on those FB animals for sale pages, i don't even look at 'em anymore coz it just wastes my time. Bloody crazy !
  2. Thanks :D that is such a nice compliment!! I love 'em to bits and its nice to see that people can see the beauty in their looks and especially in their personality as well ! BTs really do have the best, most gorgeous nature, you can't help but love them. You'll have to introduce your OH to Roxy and Harli ;) Thanks everyone for the compliments have to say, i totally agree with everyone (especially with Clyde in regards to the cat, you read that very well )
  3. :D Thanks,i think shes pretty special! And yeah Roxy is soo good with her, she just takes whatever Harli throws at her Roxy has the best nature, i hope it rubs off on Harli. She does match the cat too never noticed until i took the photos, she has learnt already that the cat is boss ! Gotta say i got 2 pretty good ones
  4. Hey, Thought i better get my act together and introduce my new bully girl Harli (Vogueabull Red Spirit) to the rest of the DOLers, she's been exclusive to the Bully people until now We picked her up on the 9th September, and she is the most gorgeous little thing! Growing very fast and Roxy just loves her to pieces First 2 pics are her at 7weeks, the next 2 photos were taken on Friday night with our cat Twyla. I've also put in a link to my FB bull terrier album, it has way more photos, (photobuckets playing up on me again!) and theres a video i uploaded to Youtube earlier today, picture quality is crap but i think its pretty cute and funny, took it just after i had given them a bath so they're having a good wrestle, oh and all the growling and barking you hear is Harli! Roxy doesn't know how to Hope you like :D ETA: heres 2 photos i wanted to put up last night but photobucket refused to cooperate, but got it working for me now. First pic was taken during her first week at home and the 2nd was taken about 2 1/2 weeks ago. I think its really cute !
  5. I'm pretty sure she'll cop ranga and bloodnut as much as any redheaded mate would in a loving way of course ;) Purdie she's a solid red, solid generally means full coloured faces and little white on their body, usually just chest and feet. Solid reds have a bit of black masking around their faces as well . OH loves the colour, he's been wanting a solid red pup since we went to the first BT show! I prefer bullies with a bit more white, but i still think she is absolutly gorgeous!! I love a nice coloured (brindle/black or red) and white bully, but have a soft spot for the whites too. They're just like big polar bears Big soft cuddly white lumps My Mum has a white boy and he is gorgeous Edited for clarity as well ;)
  6. Thanks for all the suggestions, my computer has been out of action for awhile and in that time we've narrowed it down to 2 names, Harli or Indi :D Plus i've got a new pic of the little lady, thought you might like a squiz before i send my computer off to the doctors tonight. Isn't she soo cute !?!?!
  7. Thanks guys! Just came back from taking mydaughter to a party and we're on page 2!! Ilove Jarrah and had already suggested it to OH, might need to keep at him. And i love Rose and Ruby, but want to steer away from the 'R' names as we alredy have Roxy. I love Cyan too, i had a balck staffy when i was 15 and i called her Cyan, so can't use that again. I have suggsted Penny and Scarlett, Garnet, Jaffa, Saffron and Spirit, but not good enough for the OH I was actually thinking of the name Ally yesterday, but i hadn't suggested it ! We don't mind Trinity as well (her fathers name is Matrix) but it could be a tad too long. Keep 'em coming !!
  8. Hey! Can finally let the cat out of the bull terrier thread and announce we are getting another bully baby She is a solid red girl and we can't wait to bring her home!!! She is now 5weeks old! She is 'officially' my OHs dog and he doesn't want a sissy name. He likes Harley. I'm not so sure?? I like Pumpkin or Juice for a little orange girl, but OH isn't a fan and said there is no way he's walking around yelling out 'Pumpkin' I also don't mind the name Pheobe. Her reg'd name will be Red Spirit. Any suggestions will be much appreciated!!
  9. Hokey Pokey Candy/Toffee Apple Bliss Bomb Brown Sugar (ya gotta sing it like the Rolling Stones though when you say it! ) Honey Bunch/Crunch Gobstopper Hot Toffee Toffee Smash Simply Smashing Hopetoo many of these haven'talready been said I will have my own naming thread very soon ;) Just waiting on some recent photos
  10. So True! The breeder i got Roxy off is IMO a larger scale breeder. They wouldn't have more than 10 litter a year but they do breed often, athough they do seem to be slowing down a bit. They are a very reputable breeder in that a lot of their dogs are behind most quality bull terriers today and i would go as far as saying they have contributed to the bull terrier in Australia today in a very big way (have been breeding over 30years). They do still compete in show. And they generally keep the best pup/s out of a litter to run on. They tend to keep more bitches than dogs, and bitches are breed from once or twice then desexed and adopted out to a nice family home, when they are 3 or 4. They also sell their pups relatively 'cheaper' compared to some prices of BTs going around. They definitly improve on each litter and are putting out very nice examples of BTs and i think they get what they want out of most litters, but i also think it helps them (in a small way) with the costs of owning and keeping so many dogs. But in saying that, IMO this is not why they breed .
  11. The worst was about a month or so ago, i had just walked Roxy down to the vet to get her nails done, which entails me having to wrestle her down a bit coz she hates getting her nails done and cries. Silly me wore a white shirt, Roxy dusty and unwashed, covered me in doggy smell, dust and brown hairs. Afterwards i walked down to the Post Office which is always crowded, was getting a few looks and realised i really reeked of dog and then noticed all the hairs as soon as i got to the counter i had to apologise and explain i had just been to the vet with my dog. I will learn to leave the doggy things til last one day !!
  12. Roxy was doing Zoomies the other night i was out the back playing with her and we were on the verandah and she was in the middle of some high octane air spins and shes came out of it at full pelt to do a bolt around the yard and ran head first into the verandah pole She hit it hard too,it would have only been a metre or so away as she came out of the spins at top speed! Pulled her up pretty quick though, i near crapped me dacks, but after checking her over i couldn't help but laugh ! She was still hyped up afterwards but no more zoomies and spins, just hugs and waggy tails :D ! She hasn't ran into me or the kids yet, shes usually pretty good at dodging us and the kids have learnt its best to keep still at these times, but not sure whether coz it was night time those squinty bully eyes don't see as well and didn't notice the thin white pole ??
  13. When i had my Kia Sportage (heap of crap) it was very easy, Roxy had a large canvas collapsible crate that fit into the back and would stay there. Now i have a Commodore sedan, if the cars not full she'll either sit on the front or back seat, depending if i have a front seat passenger, but if i havea full car she goes on the front passenger floor mostly , oh she's usually half on the floor and half on a lap though i know it can be dangerous, but it is the most comfortable spot for her and the kids in a full car, and i'm currently not in a position to upgrade the car at the mo'. Just want to add she doesn't travel in the car often (i know it is still risky), mainly only if we are going away for the weekend and taking her with us. Very sorry to read about your friend Sounds like hes had a very tough time, and i hope things start looking up for him
  14. Didn't even other reading the 2nd page. My sisters pure staffy jumped the fence and hung himself while she went to town Her elderly neighbours found him and they were soo upset too that they hadn't heard him, as they used to spoil him and look after him if she as away, they had taken himdown and had him in a hessian bag to take away for her, (god love 'em!). She had only recently started chaining him up as he had been caught jumping over their front fence. She had never seen him even jump onto his kennel but obviously that is what he had done. He was a beautiful dog, great with kids dogs and cats, so not sure why he started escaping? But so missed by 2 families. Please if you are going to chain him up make sure there is no way he can get over any high fences etc to hang himself. Make sure it is safe area for him Otherwise i would most definitly recommend a fully enclosed cage is the way to go!!! There's no way to hurt themsleves or noone else. Youhave full control hopefully
