  1. OOps sorry!!!!!!!LOL.Its for senative skin By "ego" There a is a whole line of QV product you can get it at your local chemist. It about $12 a 500ml bottle i think.U only need 2 caps worth in a laundry tubs worth. You can also get a non-soap cleansing bar but i have found it leaves thier coat dry.The olive oil soap (brand it Priya and you get it from woolworths)Puts oil through their coat. but doesn't leave them greasy.
  2. Sound unusual but works a treat. My fella fits in laundry tub so i 3/4 fill it and put 2 cap fulls in goes milky
  3. Yep capstar......Also wash My Joe on pure olive oil soap then soak him in QV bath oil for 5 or so minutes. It really takes the redness out of the itchyness.Stay way from shampoos and heavly scented products.Vet has also given me some anti-hystamine "FRAMINE "for his really itchy days.No long term effects. Cheers Megs
  4. Hi Danielle! It's been 2yrs last feb since i lost Eddie,He was 4 when he died.He started having seizures just before he was 12mths. But didn't go on to the meds Phemabarbitol (my spelling is crap) untill just before he died.He was on the meds for 10 days when at 3am one nite he got really sick and was vomiting. He spent 2 weeks going between regular vet and the specialist vet hospital at straithfield(NSW) where it was thought that he had pancreatitis which in turn cause scaring and damage to his bile duct.He was totally jaundice. Was ment to have surgery but died the morning of. I was soooo shattered he was my heart. I still cry just thinking about what the poor bugger went through. The meds in that short time made him extremely lithargic and stored fat in his blood which caused the pancreatitis. If i had the time over i would not have put him on the meds. But can't change it now. I now have another Jack(russell) JOEY he's just turned 2 and he's pretty alright. He's a lot more aloof than Eddie.Ed was contantly by my side and would let me out of his sight.Joe's off the first chance he gets. .He love racing,he's not fast but he LOOOOOVEEES it We have a race day this sunday so he's resting up. Going to try and put piccky on hope it works Sorry for slow rely iam a 2 finger typer cheers Megs

  6. Cheers K9kutz.thanks for that. Will give those a go i think.I have to keep fleas off hims as he's a very senative poppet and is very allergic to them...
  7. Hello! It's been a while since i have posted here.Over 2yrs actually since my last dog Eddie died.He suffered from epilepsy and died from complications of the medication.I now have a new friend, a jack russell named Joey who is now 2yrs old.Iam in a bit of a puzzle. His weight is now 10.92kgs.So iam wondering which dose of frontline to get now. the up to 10kgs or the 10-20kgs.Any thoughts would be wonderful.Iam worried about overdosing or under dosing and not stopping the fleas. Also any news about the others i chatted to who also had dogs with epilepsy.your name i am sorry i have forgotten
  8. Ask your vet about seeing a specialist. Not sure where you are but Eddie was sent from his regular vet to the 24hr Hospital at Srathfield( in NSW). It's pretty expensive though.....
  9. Lillypilly, I wouldn't worry too much bout him not eating just yet....Eddie hadn't eaten for 10days, but he was on a drip all along and he lost less than a kilo in that time...Specialist told me that in the depression vets experimented with dogs to see how long they could go without food before damage to organs was done.....Aparently it was about a month. My research ,when Ed got ill was that even smelling food causes the pancreas to release juices and cause more inflamation. As long as he's on a drip for fluids he can go a bit long with no tucker...I know it's hard though all you want is for them to eat...Even with my new dog Joey i stress a little if he doesn't eat his dinnner. Keep us post on how he's doing....Sending lots of hugs his away... Cheers Megs
  10. Fido666... Same thing happened to my boy Eddie in Feb this year...He too was only 4yrs old.Got real sick all of a sudden one night.Blood test didnt show up as pancreatitis but when he started to go jaundice a few day later an ultra-sound showed a swollen pancreaes...When his jaundice wasn't going away a 2nd ultra sound showed it had gone down but the bile duct coming out of the gallbladder had become inflamed and blocked....He was to have surgery the nxt morning but he had a heart attack before they were to start...It's suspected that his gallbladder had ruptured. 10 days before he started on Phenabarbital for seizures(epilepsy) that had become more frequent. The specialist thinks that this may have a contributing factor as the medication makes FAT store in the blood...He did say it's very rare for this complication to occur ( a 1 in 10,000). I was told how ever if he did recover from this that he would have to be on a LOW FAT DIET as he would be extremely prone to re-occurence of it. LILLPILLY....I hope every thing work out for your boy...and he makes a speedie recovery
