First time bitch as well

Hi all, I have been a VCA registered breeder for the past 2 years but have never had my dog used as a stud dog. I have very little experience from the dog side of things. I have always mated my bitches with other dogs. He lives at home with me with no other dogs. He is 18 months old and this is his first time my first time and the bitches first time. The bitch had a reading of 4.7 on Friday so we tried last night she is been tested as I write this message. I know she may be not quite ready but what concerns me is he showed no interest at all just running around madly lots of licking she seemed to be having lots of fun growling only a few times he never tried to mount her once nor did his penis ever protrude. He usually will mount anything that moves. Could somebody with more experience than I, please help? I want to do the right thing by the bitches owner by not wasting his time.

How do you get C tick done

The c tick compliance is this difficult to get. How can it be restricted but allowed thats confusing who says we can or can't use them

I have been told from a supplier in the USA that the ban on e-coller's being imported to Australia has been lifted is this correct. If so this is great news as the Aussie dollar is good at the moment I we can buy at a resonable price.

To be honest I know nothing about clicker training i will read up on it. I just thought you actually click something in your hand thats why I say it difficult also I dont wont to train for two different situations

Yes for sure although some judges could certainly be easy to sway with guns and ammo. Your right but I was thinking of incorporating the training for all purpose as the disipline is the same dumb bell/ downed game.

Hi Guys, Pics coming soon, will not take her hunting till next year lots of training to do. She will come out in the paddocks with me soon for experience. Have been walking her each morning and she gets more cofidence each time we go, would love to let her of lead for a gallop but Im a bit worried to let her go yet. Off lead parks attract all types of dogs (OWNERS) good and bad cannot afford a bad experience. Anyway she is having a great time all the same. Regards Angelo

To all those who gave advice thankyou very much she has settled in very well put on weight and is now very happy sleeping thru the night in her kennel outside on porch. She is such a loveable dog cant get enough human contact is a quick learner. I have found a truly best friend. Thanks Again Angelo

Hi, I posted about 2 weeks ago re new GSP pup barking and whining my bitch is 10 mths old and was already living outside she has settled fantastic outside being right next to the back door she does enjoy a walk around the house but being older and bigger she is a bit excitiable and jumps on everything (training required). She has a nice big kennel with lots of nice pillows and old clothes she loves it. To all those who replied to my post 10 mth old GSP barking thanks for all the great advice it really helped. She is so smart already learing to sit, stay, and come. Loves taking the kids to school and cant get close enough to you any chance she gets. Cant wait to see her in the field to do her trade "hunting" (sorry to all the consrvationist).

Yes I am a hunter i have given it a 45 min walk last night and today will walk it each day she has settled a little I am going to get a crate now. Came from Katherine Wishart Ardent Kennels in cranbourne she did not make it in the show ring. She has been in a pen with long run and 4 other dogs all her life. She is outside in a Medium pen with a kennel at my place but a long way from the family moving her when I get home from work

Took her for a walk this morning gave her a good wash & feed did not make a sound so quiet, put her back in kennel goes mad berking and paceing got to go to work will she stop.

First Outside in new kennel then in laundry fine if I stay with her as soon as I turn away from her she starts

Brought her home last night did not stop barking all night still going, neibourghs angry
