Tilly Posted October 5, 2010 Share Posted October 5, 2010 (edited) I have a first aid kit for each dog and it basically remains with the dog ... so if I have 2 dogs then I have 2 FA kits. I brought a animal first aid book and then went through it looking and what types of injuries my dogs could get and then made sure it contains everything I would need to treat that injury. I looked at things like snake bite, cut/stab/shot, hit by car, poisoning, broken bones etc - and then made sure there was sufficient supplies to treat these injuries (they are working dogs). Apart from the regular bandages etc it also contains doggy pooh bags, tick removers and advantix. I have the FA book put out by Animal Emergency Centre (written by Carole Harvey-Stevenson) called "The Animal Emergency Centre of Brisbane, Guide to First Aid for your Pet".
