Hi All...

The time has come for our two dogs to have their hair cut, but I want to find another person (either mobile or salon) that can be recommended in the Hills District of Sydney.??

We are actually in Carlingford .

We have an 8 Year old Golden Retriever and 4 Year old Maltese Cross...

It is more time for the little fella to have a cut than the big boy.!!!

The last person that we had do the work did not do a very good job on either one of our boys, so now we want to make sure that we can get someone who will look after them with cut/wash/clip Etc..!!

Look forward to hearing from you all.!!

Regards

Julius

I recommend you do not clip the Golden, their coat is not designed to be clipped. I have a Golden with a very thick coat all i do with her is strip her undercoat out, and trim her feet and clip her belly and she stays cool enough.

I find salons tend to be more trustworthy than mobile people. have you looked up womow? its a website where people put good/bad experiences of businesses.

Hi Lucy..

Thanks for the quick response... a bit late to tell me not to clip his coat, but we have clipped him right back to short hair and have done so for the last few years.. and he loves it, he feels like a pup again each time.!!!

Hi Julie,

You will have some that disagree on the clipping of certain breeds.

At the end of the day it is your choice!

If it makes the dog more confortable and is only a pet, it certainly makes grooming easier on your self. ...then you are doing the right thing!

But it is essential to find a grooming salon that you are happy with.

And like wise with a moblie Salon also .....When you call a mobile ask for some references to get some feed back.

Cheers

Hi there,

Where did you take them previously?

I recently took my 2y.o rescue Maltese for his first hair cut (in our care, we've had him since early September and he came to us basically shorn) to Regal Boutique Salon on Pennant Hills Road (located between Carlingford Court and Village so right near you!)..

I dont have anything to compare it to but he did a fine job although it did a really long time (but he calls when your dog is ready for pick up...). Might try someone else next time so i have something to compare it to but apart from that, he was well priced and pooch was happy and his bouncy self afterwards... It was a bit of a shock seeing him with such short hair again after being so fluffy for a while!

HTH
