katied86 Posted April 16, 2013 Share Posted April 16, 2013 Hi! My 12 week old had his 2nd vaccination on Thursday and was given a heartworm tablet. On Friday he was totally insane, ripping up plants, biting, jumping, zooming. He's normally a really settled puppy and has been fine since. Could this behaviour be the result of the Vacs? julesluvscavs Posted April 17, 2013 Share Posted April 17, 2013 (edited) Nothing is impossible re side effects.. best to ring the vets and just let them know in case.. especially if the behavior seems out of place. Altho young puppies are generally like that and if it was a side effect, it would probably do the opposite I would have thought? Oh ok you say hes fine now, well thats good :) One of our Cavs had a real bad hyper session after a flea treatment once, and i rang the vets (as it was out of character for him), and they did say it can happen and to bring him down so they could check his temp etc.. He was ok after. The usual side effects we have had from vaccinations in the past have been being lethargic and throwing up..
