  1. Thanks everyone, he is gorgeous.
  2. My recent rescue foster wouldn't leave his alone and managed to get the stitches out with the collar on. Thankfully the wound had healed, I agree that it was more so the clipper rash that was bothering him more. The collar was ridiculous and he bumped into everything, including us.
  3. Thanks, I'll add some more pics, he doesn't open his mouth as wide as a GSD and is a lot squarer as well if that makes sense.
  4. Hi, this guy was rescued from a pound in NSW, he was found wandering and malnourished. They had him listed as a GSD but I think he is a Belgian Malinois. What do others think? I have adopted him, he definitely behaves differently to a GSD and doesn't look like one.
  5. Hi, we have flagged The Bullmastiff as a possible next breed, what do I need to know? Previously we have had GSD's and I have always attended obedience with them. We have a Female Cavalier and two cats, also 4 children at home 16,13,11 & 8 who are all dog savvy and very caring towards animals. Our Cav is an indoor dog, only going out for toilet & play but a large dog would be mostly outside during work/school hours with heaps of family time indoors of course when we are home. Any information you can share would be fantastic as we want to know as much as possible before taking the next step. Thank you in advance.
  6. Thankyou. Have been in touch with Central Animal Records, and National Pet Register. Hopefully something will come up soon.
  7. Geriatric German Shepherd got out from his backyard in Sunbury, he is very approachable by humans but not a fan of other dogs. If you find him please call Kylie on 0468 922 826 OR 0414432655. He is very much loved and sorely missed.
  8. Hi, I worked for Cass from Ringbarka some years back and her dogs are great. They are beautiful to look at and have a lot of instinct and brains. She loves her dogs and has exported to Europe quite a bit.
  9. Unless you can afford a Kirby, get a Dyson. I do some cleaning for the elderly and people with disabilities and seriously they are the only two vacuums I would use if given a choice.
  10. I have always had GSD's, I have also at one time had a JRT, she thought she was the boss, but was a great companion to our elderly Male GSD, she was his ears before he passed. Christmas 2008 my daughter got a Cavalier King Charles, (we knew and approved the gift before hand). Our Male GSD was nearly 8 at the time, and the pup was 9 weeks. They love each other so much, she keeps him active and they run and play all the time. He is a dominant dog and he is well and truly the boss, we let him discipline her and teach her his own way. He has never hurt her, although he has given her a fright at times when she was not listening to his signs of disapproval. I can only tell you about my experience, but it has been positive and my GSD's have loved the little dogs in their life.
  11. Our Cav only barks when excited, she never barks any other time . This could be because the GSD barks enough for both of them
  12. Kaiser has been a senior for the last couple of years.. he was nine in Feb. He has Cartrophen injections now to keep him moving with less pain. Just don't tell him I said he was old, he still thinks he's a puppy.
  13. I was proud of Kaiser tonight, my 14yo Daughter went to the door to recieve the pizza for the first time and he gave a couple of barks from behind the fence. He never does this when I answer the door, so it must of been in protection of my daughter.
  14. http://frankston-leader.whereilive.com.au/...oses-his-fight/ A man in Frankston refuses to desex his xbred so it can be registered, local law says that all dogs must be desexed in order to be registered, unless a pedigree. Not only do his comments baffle me, some of the reader comments are just wierd.... "The dog is good breeding stock"?? :p ;) :mad :mad :D ETA: I can't make the link work, try copy and paste into browser, sorry
