  1. Bellatrix. Have faith that she's enjoying Bella's company over the bridge and they're watching over us together
  2. NTC, Bella was trained using the same method as LMC's Charlie I wouldn't make it a game. Carry her outside, put her down and then stand straight back up - completely ignore her, don't even look her in the eye (but keep an eye on her). As soon as she goes, praise like crazy (don't worry about the neighbours - make as much noise as you please ) and treat if you like, then carry her back in and put her back to bed Worked for us and worth a try TB, this is an 8-9 week old pup
  3. Hi Dannib and pikespooches I'm moving to Narrandera on the 23rd November and would be very interested in meeting you both. I'm very keen to take Bella and my new girl, Sophie to agility and obedience classes. Feel free to PM me if you're keen or just want to chat
  4. Oh Kleinjie, I'm sorry to hear this. I would get to the vet ASAP or at least give them a call. PPS is right, any reaction should be a cause for concern.
  5. Bella always travels in a car harness and always in the back seat. I had her in the front seat once and she was so distracting, trying to lick me and get on my lap (even though she couldn't reach). If I could get a crate to fit in my sedan, I'd use that though.
  6. Thanks for that Pax. Just out of curiosity, an hour away being where? Coffs?
  7. Searching for dog training, good vet and people who live in the Grafton, NSW district.
  8. Here's one thread for you to look at: http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...c=78370&hl= ETA better link
  9. Showdog, somebody else mentioned it. I was merely clarifying what was meant by the previous post. It does not mean that this is my belief. I have a small dog (well, kinda) and I allow her to sleep on my lap. I have had a few issues with her, but have found other ways to deal with them.
  10. I believe (in order of your post) about 7 days about 10-14 days about 6 weeks? Someone with a bit more knowledge will probably come here and shoot everything I just said out of the water... Have you asked your breeder? She should know.
  11. Okay, first of all, how much access does he have to the house? You mentioned the hallway and the loungeroom (I think). This is far too much space for a puppy that isn't housetrained!!! Bella is 10 months old and she only just has access to the kitchen and loungeroom unsupervised. She started in the kitchen (all hard floors - no carpet) from the day we got her. The crate is to be used when you can't watch him LIKE A HAWK and when it's sleep time or timeout (from kids, other dogs etc.) The reason that he should not be allowed to fall asleep on your lap is because to a small breed this shows dominance. He doesn't see you as a leader if he can sleep in bed with you and on your lap. Best of luck and any questions, just ask.
  12. I like Chateau de Collie!!! That design looks fantastic! I might pinch it too and add a little tunnel thing to one side heading toward the house that has a hinged side so that I can clean that bit too...overboard?
  13. Something I did with Bella was take up her food and water about half an hour before bedtime. Mind you that wasn't until she was about 4 months old, maybe 5. It always goes down as soon as she wakes up and goes to the toilet.
