thanks guys .... he seems fine but lump is still there.
will take him to the vet tomorrow morning - and hopefully will have good news to report - its always a scare when something abit abnormal appears on one of the critters !
-
Stormy - I guess he could have been bitten by something - but other than a mice invasion at the moment there doesn't seem to be too many nasties around
-
I have heard of reactions like this from spot on products. Bad batches.
I would wait a few days to see if it goes down. If it doesn't reduce in size over the next few days then get the vet to take a look at it.
He hasn't just had a vaccination has he?
no... no recent vaccinations
he seems happy enough and is eating well .... but I am just worried about the size of it and how quickly it has come up. Its also not really that close to the site I put the flea treatment on.
-
Just noticed that Coby (whippet) has a huge lump on the side of his neck under where his collar sits
He was treated with Advantage yesterday - could that have caused a reaction like this? He has never had a reaction to it before and is done every month.
Cant get him to the vet until tomorrow.... the lump is squishy not solid - but about the size of a golf ball
-
sorry for your loss Ellie

so sorry to hear of your tragic loss Kaffy - words are probably meaningless at this time . Take the time you need to grieve the loss of your beautiful boys
Kobe RIP little man - run free with Kaden
-
yeah...it really seems like a bad joke at the moment
I feel responsible about poor little Zig - I think I have been so preoccupied with Lucia that I probably hadn't been quite so vigilant about doors and windows being shut - and I hadn't put her in her cage - and unfortunately she paid the ultimate price ;)

We have just buried our gorgeous little girl Ziggy
She must have gotten outside while i was getting dinner ready.
The boys found her up on the road just outside the gate - must of happened only a few minutes earlier as she was still warm.
Zig was a sweet little black moggy that came from the animal shelter about 5 years ago. Such a tolerant and easy going girl. She was great with all the dogs and even shared a cage at night with one of the greys.
Zig - you were a special little girl - so easy going and never any trouble
we will miss you little black cat.... now you can play with Moo and Digby again
run free now little one - and thank you for being you
hope to see you over the other side.... bye for now sweetie :D

Little did I know this morning what sadness the day was to bring.
Moo, as usual, bounded out of bed this morning with her usual eagerness to get the day going - my little active JRT and constant companion for 6 years. We went for a drive down the street and she was so happy - little tail didnt stop wagging. She loved going out in the car.
Came home and unfortunately I dropped the lead while trying to open the gate with shopping and her lead. She took off and straight under a car. It was instant.
We have buried her next to Digby - and the house is so empty now.
I feel numb, the boys are very quite and even the other dogs are pretty sooky
My sweet Moo - god I will miss you - you were so full of life and loved us all.
Run free now baby girl - you gave me 6 years of love and lots of fun. Until we meet again Moo
love you Moo

A Year On - A Tribute To My Maggie-moo
in Rainbow Bridge
Posted
Haven Park Maggie - came to live with us when she was six months old when the boys and I were living in Melbourne. She was my first experience with a JRT. She was such a happy little girl and so full of life and energy ! The little stumpy tail never stopped wagging and her smile was enormous. Within the first 5 minutes of getting her into her new home with us, the little rocket had escaped out of the front door and we had to spend the next couple of hours trying to catch the little shyte. Still, after getting her back home and seeing her smiley little face and that little waggy tail going at a million miles an hour it was impossible to stay cross with her. That was the beginning of the little escape artists constant runs to freedom. She would even scale a 6 foot paling fence to escape !
When we moved back to our place in the country the first thing we did was put up a big wire mesh dog enclosure that was JRT proof. Still the little shyte would work out ways to escape. First she would climb up onto the roof of the shed (don’t ask me how she managed it – but she did !) She would then jump from the roof of the shed onto a branch on a tree, walk out as far on the branch as she could and over the other side of the fence then just drop to the ground ! She was one determined young girl ! So we cut the branch of the tree. Next thing she worked out to do was climb yet another tree then jump from one branch to another branch of another tree and then leap over the 6 ft fence. Again, a branch was cut from a tree. That stopped her escaping from the yard – but she would still spend a lot of her time up in the trees ! Her next escape attempts was through any window that was left open – she would chew through the insect wire and then make a run for it !
While she was hard work – she was such a loving little dog who could win anyone over. The perfect little house dog - she was my constant little shadow. She would sneak in under the doona on the cold mornings or snuggle down next to me. I would always be tripping over her in the bathroom as she would sit outside the shower door while I was having a shower. In the kitchen we had to clear a cupboard and put a little bed in there as she loved to be with me – but hated the cold tiles on her paws.
She loved coming out in the car, and going for walks. She was such a big part of the family. She would curl up on our laps when watching TV, sit next to me on her own chair when I was working on the computer or studying. She just wanted to be with us when she was inside.
She knew the difference between my stay at home clothes and my work clothes – when I was putting on my work clothes she would get all sad and sulky, but when she knew I had my stay at home clothes she would bounce around as happy as anything.
The end came on Tuesday (11/03/08) when she again made a run for freedom – which unfortunately turned out to be her final escape. We had spent a wonderfully happy morning together and then at 11:15am my little rocket was taken from me. I am so so sorry my little Moo that I let you down that one last time – if only you hadn’t gotten away from me …..
To Maggie-Moo ….
You changed my life forever little Miss Maggie-Moo. I will never forget you or the wonderful times we had. I miss you so much
I hope you can run freely at the bridge – as that was what you loved to do the best. And don’t worry – we will keep those pesky magpies from landing in your yard.
You will always be in my heart and I hope that one day we will be together again. I hope you and the Digger Boy are giving everyone a hard time up there ...
Thank you for the best 6 years - your love, your energy, your eagerness and enthusiasm for life. Run free now my little Moo ……. love you always
