  1. Hoping it is KC !! ..well...as opposed to bone damage
  2. if you need recommendations- ask on here - not every flashy website means an appropriately experienced person ;) best of luck with it :)
  3. I suspect you could do as well by taking a normal dog crate, preferably with a low roof, and throwing a pile of doonas over it. Alt., bend a piece of weldwire mesh. Advantage: uses stuff you've already got and relatively easy to clean. The beauty of those is that there is no mesh/steel/straight hard walls ;) I am presuming that when a dog curves/stretches that a surface which moulds and moves is more comfortable than mesh ;) I make my own "dog rolls" from foam bed toppers ..rolled into a cylinder , and filled with bedding :)
  4. ..just saw your photo :) yep :) he can gnaw the ends of these ..b ut there are those hard shiny surfaces which sometimes also come away a bit like a half egg ... they slide down easily ..but cannot get thru any further .
  5. The best bones for teeth , are the ones a dog can sit & GNAW his meal off ..using all those sides of his teeth ,as he chews/tears, not crunches .A bit like us chewing corn off a cob - rather than crunching a stick of celery . :)
  6. Ok... with marrowbones- they can come off in sharp edged chunks or splinters on occasion ..when they do cause probs. Millions of dogs eat them ... but .... using things like frozen turkey necks/wings , or whole lamb necks , beef brisket bones are safer - as they don't splinter ..they are not as hard/dense. Anyhow - he needs to visit a vet who just doesn't say "take him home & watch him" ;) & I hope he's feeling comfortable soon. :)
  7. he may be trying to bring up a chunk ...(what sort of bone was it exactly? )..he may have a scratch or something in his throat ..he may have a bit of gristle floating around ...or it may be something else entirely .... Cannot say what a vet might do , because there is no way I can guess as to what is wrong ,sorry is he pooing OK ?
  8. :) thanks . Most of ours do it ..... at some stage
  9. back teeth need attention ? Piece of bone /meat stuck in between teeth? Tonsilitis?
  10. :0 didn't know lying/sleeping on one's back like that had a name .... george is one content fella .
  11. :) hope the results show something easily managed :)
  12. The vet also may have given a higher dose than usual because the sting could not be located, and they were concerned of extra venom?
  13. Thanks for the tips! I've noticed that shorter sessions work a lot better for Bonnie, so much more energy and enthusiasm. I only spent 5 minutes training her today and it was great! definitely going to cut back on the length of our sessions :) and as you said, the relationship comes first! That sounds very good :) Well Done!
  14. Definitely a vet visit or phone call .... a check on dog's general health , and dosage, is needed , I think.
  15. Now, that is a happy girl :) How clever are you - using that sunlounge like that!!
  16. ..perhaps you can help her ? No equipment needed to set up, either! THIS looks fun :)
  17. :) and that is also when a LOT of people start , AFAIK .When they are able to drive- and take their dog places , and learn more widely :D Perhaps the ones who stop then finally realise that doing agility is not really their dream after all ? Perhaps they don't have the drive and patience anymore ? perhaps they prefer parties and lovers :p
  18. must be frustrating for you . Step aside a half step .. look at it all as tho you are helping a friend and their dog , maybe?
  19. Have you tried Bonnie with Nose Work ? Just thinking - if she loves her food, and has a good sniffer ....following trails may be a great thing for communication / enjoyment , and may also make her feel less of the worry ? Not sure ..just a thought :) My last boy, the gorgeous goofy Hamlet was a CockerX ..and LOOOVED using his nose . It was such fun watching him naturally "quarter" an area searching for scent ..and he enjoyed both make believe and real hunting ! That, and carrying things were what he loved best - so that's what I tried to channel . Luckily , we could do real tracking ( feral cats), and I eventually had myself a wonderfully useful and willing "picker-up-of-things -I needed-off the floor/ground" . It was just a pleasure watching him thoroughly enjoy himself doing things :)
  20. Dear Ginger Puss .... I just love gingers, and especially "helpers" this pic is my fave :) to you as life moulds itself around the hole left by his passing.
