  1. Hope it's easily fixed :) and the bed smells MUCH better soon .
  2. I dunno. I really love agility right now. It's the one thing I actually enjoy doing that makes me happy. Everything with agility has only gotten harder since I got older. I think my best, and maybe only shot at agility will be this year. sometimes Bonnie doesn't like it, sometimes she does. I'm not sure. I don't want to just give up on it, we're so close and I've been waiting years for this. I do know the feeling ...I do . ..and I don't mean to be seen as being tough on you ... Many many years ago , as a late teen - I had a bordercollie X dog , called Ren. Living in the bush , where dogs have to earn their keep , I was determined that Ren would be a sheepdog, so she & I could work and be praised :p Ren had not much drive or interest ..BUT would respond to just whistles to turn L & R ..would Go & STOP , and the other stuff ... she was obedient . She did work sheep - quite well and we did get praised by the shearing contractors etc - but she never really enjoyed it ...ever ... and I have regrets even now , 40 years on, that she did it because she was told, not because it was her life's goal .It was MY goal
  3. if you want them to 'graze ... slowly put them onto a good quality complete kibble ..and put it in treat balls :D That way they can be kept occupied , but are still just eating one of their meals ! I would do a vet visit today ... explosive stinky diarrhoea for 4 days is not good.
  4. ..and perhaps consider that your dog is perhaps losing heart because of your ambition? It's great to be young & keen ...however perhaps agility may be for another time, when you are more independent ?
  5. a goodo ,and mouthful of schmako is great for treats occasionally , but are not real food .... it's like feeding cheezels & maccas to kids everyday
  6. I am a little confused .... if you both do not enjoy it ..then is it not possible to do your work the safe distance away ? I also don't quite understand why you persevere with an unhappy dog , and a degree of frustration and disappointment for you. I think you may need to take a step back ... do lots of work on your skills ...so , if Bonnie really loves agility work , you can guide her and both enjoy yourselves. I presume Bonnie loves the agility stuff ..and throws herself into teh challenge of learning new things generally ? :)
  7. ..and that's how I took it :) It is an interesting general query .
  8. got any probiotics to give them now ? Plain low fat yoghurt?
  9. i would suggest you change schools if possible? or at least try another - see how she goes. She may associate this one with scary .....
  10. Stan...happy Birthday to a legend!! :)
  11. At 14 mths ,,and a condition developing from trauma? Just on this info - I presume a recent trauma would be resposible ? I imagine a breeder would not be responsible .
  12. Yep that poor lady at Yattalunga, for those with FB you can read the reviews of good old Gossie Council https://www.facebook.../ilikemygosford there are another couple about rangers etc not doing enough. makes life hard .
  13. yes! this is why all my dogs are taught "YUCK" , and "Gimme" So I can stop them picking something up ..and /or get them to give up what is in their grip :) This is taught from day dot..and never involves taking away a food bowl during meals. ....the puppies enjoy it :)
  14. Breathe , and take things slow ... I think you're doing well :) Hope the foot behaves itself ..and that maddie is able to move happily :)
  15. Mystiq- I call them "Career mums" they will do it - but cannot wait to get back to what they were doing ;)
  16. That one - we think she actually ate it - left no trace as I had cleaned the soiled paper up from the last pup born. There was no sign of it anywhere. At first, we even were wondering if we counted right. not hard to do in the confusion , either...glad you had so many healthy ones :)
  17. It doesn't take much to kill a newborn blob ..one snap which unintentionally connects will do it ... 11 BC puppies :D
  18. mystique - in case you missed it (might be in another thread?) the OP has said how good dogs' feet are with him being walked with foot protection , and kept off grass for 3 days so far Diet is also now kangaroo + sweet potato ..and no supplements :) I also heard about the vinegar and Stingers! ouch! Apparently the vinegar triggers the fibres to release more venom ..and so makes things worse . So many were using it too !
  19. :) @ the running til foaming at the mouth ..our guys get like that as well ..they only flop down when absolutely exhausted- just in case they miss something!! I know you live a bit away from good resources ..makes it hard. An anti bark collar on this dog is obviously a : inefficient b: possibly contributing to the frustrated barking. Do you have a video of dog barking - what does he do ? is he watching anything, running, playing, guarding ....? One thing I would suggest is that his excercise be CONTROLLED ..by you . walks/training/a little free running with lots of recalls /downs etc - quiet& calm periods indoors/outdoors (on lead so there are no mistakes)....reinforced with treats . if he is barking while travelling ..use a lead and martingale on him - have him in the front with you ..and correct him the instant he starts to tense up.
