  1. We have puppies!!!

Arrived in the early hours of the morning - Monday 6th September.

Molly had a c-section and had 8 puppies, sadly one baby boy was lost.

Attached is a photo of proud mum with her puppies, we have 4 boys & 3 girls :o

Congrats on the new arrivals. :) sorry to hear of the lost puppy.

Congrats to you aswell Cassie glad to hear it was quick and all are healthy :p

  2. Gosh you must be so very tired after midwifing two litters!! Geez I bet you had to bite your tongue when you found out about the neighbours bitch??!! That was a very good thing you did.

Oh yes tried to keep it shut but did add a few suttle comments in there :o

Just an update all pups are doing well and are all gaining weight aswell. Mum is doing well and seems to have plently of milk, only problem I am having is that she has chewed her bum to pieces down to raw skin on both side of her tail she may need a trip to the vet. sort of looks like hot spots but it isn't that time of year and she has no fleas. we have given her 2 baths since her pups where born aswell. not sure what is going on. she has never done anything like this before nor is she prone to hot spots.

    any advice? :(

  3. Hi thanks guys for all your well wishes, all pups are going well today all have gained weight, and are feeding well. Sorry for the delay last night my neighbour's came over in a panic last night needeing help becuase there unpapered choc lab was having pups. they only found out a week ago that she was pregnant :( so I went over to help for the sake of the bitch. They failed to keep her away from there entire lab male because they didn't know she was in season.

So ended up having half the night delivering puppies again, she had 9 all up I stayed until 11pm to help and left them to do the rest. I needed sleep.

So here are some pictures enjoy.

    First is a group shot

  4. ok all finished now all up she had 11 puppies. 6 boys and 5 girls. sadly we lost the 11th pup I think it was just to long between the first and last pup and her placenta detached before she was ready to be born. :) she was a big girl to.

All are really healthy andstrong, and range in weights from 275grams to 350grams. Mum is doing great and just adores her pups.

so we have 3 choc merle boys, 3 choc and white boys, 2 choc merle girls and 2 choc and white girls. This is the most pups I have had by far and they will sure keep me busy for the nexted 8 weeks

Will update with photos tonight, I have exams today at 2p and need to go have a sleep, hubby put in for a week off work so no need for me to tackle kids this morning.

  5. Yep will add some photos in the morning. Going to go nap nexted to her box lol.

    EDIT TO SAY:

Number 11 Stillborn choc and white girl. I half expected it if she had any more as her 10th pup was hard to get going. worked on her for 15 minutes with not even a breath. Not nice to lose them

  6. Mum is doing really well, for her first litter she is a great mum as I expected she would be. She has been eating and drinking through out labour and seems very happy indeed.

out of the 3 litters I have had this is the first time I have had no green discharge. She won't stop licking them which is a bit of a pain as she keeps getting them all wet again and it is freezing here tonight. The main thing is all are well.

Had another choc and white girl at 11.06pm and she is the smallest so far at 275grams. she came out not breathing and took me a while to get her going but I was determined not to let her fade. After 5 minutes and a couple of shallow breathes she pinked up and is now in keeping warm with mum while I keep a close eye on her. :)

10 in total now, still am not sure if she has finished though.

  7. last night was quiet, or so I thought I woke up with all my folded clothes out of my basket and all over the floor ;)

We have nesting, panting and whining this morning she might very well start having her babies by lunch time. what a good girl waiting for the day lol. won't stay in her box and wants to go outside or nest on my lounge ;) she is the first girl not to want to have her babies in her box :coffee:

  8. Well her temp has been up and down for 2 days now ranging from her normal 37.8 then dropping to 37.1, then goes back up again. Tonight a 7pm it has dropped and now stayed at 36.8. she has refused dinner aswell and is currently sleeping like a baby. Maybe not long now. she has showed no nesting habits as yet. The waiting game begins.

  9. Great news bel, hope yo get more than 1

We had out x-ray the vet wasn't able to confirm the approx amount of pups as they seemed to be quite small and the x-ray was quite fuzzy. I know I got my dates correct and the vet is sure I did aswell. Vet also suspects she will go early judging by the size of her. so i guess the litter size will have to remain a suprise.

  10. it is very interesting to hear these stories, as I have considered desexing for my boy because he always has girl's on the brain and he marks his territory on everything making training very difficult. I just don't have the heart to desex him because he produces gorgeous puppies, with great temprements. maybe I could try the implant and see what affect it has on him.
