Don't forget - don't order chews/foods or the customs dogs get them, not yours!
-
I've been trying not to open that email... there goes the budget again!
-
Nother idea:
Rent out a room and keep dog and roomie together while you spend a few nights a week in town.
-
Oh Sam, you've been on DOL almost as long as me. You know you can't partly rehome. You know dogs can adapt to city life - though only if you give them the time they still need. How long is the fluffer by himself at the moment each day, with work and social life? He's older, he'll be ok. Of catch a train. Or rent at St Peters and go to a great park and dog care place. So many options.
-
So sorry Rach. Big hugs for you and your boys.
-
I'm so glad you do what you do, and are who you are Melza. Can't be easy.
-
Jed you and Deshonko turn up six weeks before Christmas every year. It's amazing all the puppies are born at just the right time!
-
My puppies (breeding pair) of pink espresso cup Doo-shitz didn't make it last year :
I hope Deshonko has improved the courier system this year, or at least remembers to put airholes in the shoebox! I'm devastated that such /expensive/ precious creatures disappeared in transit and the Post office said it wasn't it's fault. It is odd that the local postie has started advertising giant Shidoodledoos! People are so gullible! I mean as if they come in Giant!

So, on the Dept Local Government website, you can find:
* Circular to Councils about the changes to the Companion Animals Act
The revised guidelines are very long and I haven't had a chance to read it all yet. Just wondered what this means for my dogs that are so friendly they might 'rush' if they went through the gate towards another dog, or if my dogs were actually attacked by a dog. Those are always my main fears.
Has anyone here had a chance to look or be involved in these new rules? I wonder how long the Councils will take to get their heads around them?

What size poodle? :D

How can you not love a corgi tail! its my favourite bit about him. The only thing that gets in the way are his clumsy feet, but even they do have their reasoning.
I know im young and not up to scratch with a lot of you but I'd love to popularise this breed in Aus, but then theres always the down side of it like seeing so many in shelters as there are huskies these days.
I have to say, when looking for a cardi pup it was hard to find one on a full register, not even for the breeding aspect but the showing. Too many people take the "competition" too competitively, eventually the current generation will disappear and wont have been passed on. I think a lot of people need to share their education to avoid things like extinction of such a great all round breed.
sorry if I went a bit off topic but of all the breeds ive had in my young life Corgis seem to be very diverse with families of all sorts and should be kept around for years to come
What a happy looking pup!
-
Now I've looked up the road tests and Burke was quite complimentary about GSD and Cardigan Corgis. Hmmm...
-
I reckon (without checking the old 'fact' sheets) that the Gnome's influence was starting to build then, especially about not having working breeds in the backyard. Also when didthe GSD breeders start getting tougher about hip displaysia and temperament?
-
No. What Powerlegs said - Catworld isn't quite the same as DOL. Sadly there are just so many more cats
Some of the breed clubs try hard.
-
Been there, to a minor extent.
The SASH team are wonderful but I don't know the others.
Best wishes to you and your pup.
-
So sorry Persephone, I only just saw this too.
Mr Wilson is a legend.
Cyber hugs to you.

And now it's made it to the big city papers:
-
Hey MUP is Nelly still available, is she really 8kg and how did she get on with a little dog? Who should my friend contact - he's been looking for the right girl like her!
-
I'm not quite sure what Butterbone ears are either but a Kelpie judge said Jodie had them!
How old is Nelly?
-
Ohhhh that's a mini mini Kelpie!
Jodie is tiny at 15kg but otherwise is indeed a dead ringer for Nelly!
Does Nelly like a tennis ball?
Lookit at Nelly's white fuzz chin and Butterbone ears :)

smelly breath/snoring could also be an infection/tonsilitis ;) Any chance of a checkup?
She doesn't seem to have a temperature but is susceptible to infection once the weather warms up The last antibiotics were about six weeks ago, for a yucky vulva.
Just watching her sneeze a few minutes ago and had another potentially silly thought. Is it possible for a dog to be allergic to a cat? Our cat is particularly allergenic for people - she just doesn't quite have the flexibility to keep herself immaculate since the Orijen paralysis. I don't think they would have tested for that in Stevie's allergy screen!
This global warming is no good for black Lab/Goldies in Sydney
-
Thanks Staffyluv!
I wonder why my search didn't work
-
Stevie's got stinky breath/saliva and is snoring worse than usual. Her ears don't seem too bad, so I was wondering if she could have a sinus infection or hayfever? It's that time of year and the air in Sydney has been very thick this last few days. She's had treatment in the past for allergies (grasses, dust mites and some type of pine tree we don't have) and isn't at the puffed-up stage, but is it safe to try her on a little phenergan or similar to see if it helps? I'll check with the vet but just wondered if it was a silly question to start with.
-
Powerlegs you need to start hiring out that hubby of yours! I've been wanting to set up something like that but can't believe it's as simple as the Dick Smith boy says.
I'm enjoying having continent dogs - long may it last!

Ha! I just got mine all excited by checking the 'new toy box' in case we already had a dragon!
