  1. IM starting to think all 3 of us will go at same time LOL.

Duckys due weds... but shes so big.. she gets much bigger she will pop.. averge litter size is only 2, i can feel more than that in there!

Get some rest for yourself, so when she (does eventually) go, youll be refreshed :)

  2. Maybe tonight?

think positive... the temps are great if you can use them as that, a guide, a good night sleep might be all you need. I tried to get a good nights sleep but the duck was pretty restless, thought something might be doing something, but no.. temp is normal *sighs* cant be too far from now.

A freind of mine had her dog whelp 5 days after her due date... Stuff that!

  3. Srill nothing but Ive had a very productive day trying to do other things to take my mind off it... She even came outside to do some gardening with me but then it got too hot for both of us!

Lets hope she decides tonight is a good time :)

    hows her temps going?

Any other progress? Has she lost her plug at all?

I think we had a bit the other day...

we have a very lazy duck... wont do much walking, she is just laying down looking all depressed... staring at me lol.. UNLESS i bring her food.. then shes all prancy and dancing and stuff .... sighs.....

  4. Bella decided she would throw up on a blanket on the floor and then went to sleep in the chair.... such a charmer this morning lol

LOL i remember my piper doing that.. if she was sick on the chair, shed go on the floor, and give me a look that im sure said "well, you seen it, now clean it up while i relax"

ah.. gotta love the staffs lol...

The cats used to get her in trouble, she wasnt allowed on our bed nor on the lounge suite.. so the cats used to taunt her, then get her to chase them, on the bed, and tearing up the hallway and jumps up on the suite, of course shed be hell tail after them and leap up, only to get told off.. poor dog.. lol.. She was great at obedience too, when we went to classes, shed see if the teacher/judge was looking, then if not, shed be inching forward.....

always with a butter woudnt melt in my mouth look LOL

  5. sorry to hear all 3 of us are still in one peice!

Hopefully well see some temps start to drop!

Duckys was 37.4 this morn, bit low but not overly so... she ate her breakfast, and is content just hanging around me, although she does do the puppy dog eye thing they usually do in the last few days.. where there eyes are large and they look so depressed.. Heck, id be depressed if my gut was jumping all over the place like hers does LOL.

  6. The temp thing does drive you crazy sometimes, but I do it as its such a good indicator. I can sleep in my bed, dont have to cancel plans etc, and feel ok leaving her alone while I go pick up kids from school etc. When the drop has happened, im glued home with her.

We have elections in NZ but the day is for the 26th, when we have a show, so going to do it tomorow, when I take her temp in morn Ill know whether I can leave her alone for a few hours or make someone stay home with her...

  7. ducky was 38.2 which is high for her, but not overly high. Id say the 38.3 of yours isnt the overly high recording either. Its the drop you want to watch mainly for, if you get the high then that will be 12-24 hours before the drop, but not all bitches show it, as its quite quick from what ive read.

If she got a temp of around 38.8 id say that would be a rise, but id check again in 2 hours anyways, see if it goes back down or stays high...

  8. for me thsi is what I would do...

check same time every morn.. if on the low side, would check again 2 hours later.. if same or higher, id leave it till night check.(unless shes very close, then Id do a lunchtime check)

if it is on the low side, check again 2 hours later.. if its lower still, check 1 hour later, and see if its still going down.. when it gets to 36.5 i pretty much know it will be 12-24 hours from that.

as long as the thermometor is the same one and disinfected every time, i dont think you can over check.

often before the drop, there is a increase in temp, this will be quite sudden, and is often missed as it quickly goes back.the increase will be higher than anything you have, but becuase it is so quick is often missed. the drop however if you are testing 3 times a day usually is not missed. Even if she starts to drop at night, you will be a lower temp recording, which is why i always do another one 2 hours after a low one.

i hope this makes sense lol

twice day testing up to day 59, then 3 times daily testing from then on...

  9. how big was the drop? if it was over a degree that should be enough. Quite often they have a temp rise before the temp drop, as well. from 12-24 hours from the temp drop at its lowest is when you should start seeing lots of action. YOull have to keep us way informed! (every lil thing) We want pics as well lol...

    Shes nesting? any panting? digging?

duck (as we hae renamed her as she looks like a waddling duck) isnt doing anything... still eating happily...

  10. cant be too far away! have you told her that she can go? lol..

ive been telling her for the last week, my 5yr old son said " just spit one out bella and the rest will follow like going down a waterslide" lol bless him

LOL will be crossing fingers toes, legs n paws that shell decide to go very soon! (tonight would be good right? LOL)

  11. if 37.2 was her lowest drop, id not count it. Needs to get down to 36.7 or similar. If its a more than 1degree drop over her base line then it might count, but then her temp would have to be over 38.3 all the time to be considered a drop. Does that make sense?

  12. They're here!

    Four puppies

    1 Tri girl (tiny) 180grms

    1 Tri girl 280grms

    1 Tri boy 280grms

    1 tan & white 320 grms

Very unexpected, scan said 2 with reproduction vet. Also we were expecting lemon or tan & whites.

    Will post photos later.

    Very happy :)

WOO HOO! what an awesome litter then, doubled!

all such big sizes too, over double what a pom normally is LOL. (although this girl is big) well done, what sex is the tan and white?

  13. Maizie, the litter's mother, passed away yesterday in a freak accident. The pups are eating some replacer mixed with mince and getting a little from another bitch who has an older litter. RIP beautiful Maizie.

Oh no Im so very sorry!

    RIP Maizie.

Makes this litter very special then I am guessing.
