I always had dogs sleeping on my bed, but then Steve came along and we realised that there just was not enough room (oh and we have a King bed too)

Lucy however does get to sleep on our bed, mostly because she falls asleep and stays quiet for the whole night...

Lucy is really good, she does not 'expect' to just sleep on the bed, and every night when we go to bed, she will wait patiently for me to either say yes or no...

Generally we have Lucy in the bedroom, Tia and Stanley in the loungeroom and Chance and Johnny in the laundry

I thought it was a luxating patella. the Vet wasn't convinced and even wasn't sure about his hips although I said his hips were fine...

Bronson was also not the 'normal' breed being a Staffordshire Bull Terrier x that weighs now just over 25kg - he's a leggy boy...

Hopefully your dog is okay, but again it's best to get the all clear than let it keep going and then causing further damage that cannot be fixed...

My vet said that it was fairly mild, I suggested getting the x-ray and am so glad that I did...

Bronson never seemed to be in pain, he would go limp free for hours...

Hey Dublin, we had a rescue with this, and he just had his surgery on Wednesday...

I think it's best to get an x-ray because it can cause more problems for your dog later on, so it's good to know just how bad it is...

The rescue dog we had was only 12 months old and was showing signs of early athritis...

I get the Eagle Pack delivered to the door from a guy in Canning Vale . He does the breeders bags of 22kg for about $65 if you buy two or more at a time.

The local butchers do a real good pet mince for 99c a kilo fresh , and 4 fresh chicken frames for 99c.

I was told to check out Eagle Pack, thanks for that info...

We can get chicken mince for a fraction cheaper, but it's frozen...

now what's your reasons for choosing and 'energy' kibble when the dogs are not in work...

Because my dogs have a tendency to be underweight on lower energy foods - they simply will not eat enough of such foods to maintain weight. They will eat enough of the Maxi Energy tho!

Have never had a problem with overweight dogs!

Greyhounds can stack on weight so easily...

I have my two on Natural Balance. It's all natural, made in WA and they're doing great on it. (You'll see for yourself soon! )

It's fairly expensive, about the same as other premium breeds, around $80 for 15kgs, but as they're trying to get off the ground maybe they wouldn't mind giving you a bulk discount, maybe for some free advertising? Worth a try!

Let me know what you find out about Royal Canin, have been considering trying that too!

That is very expensive, we pay $79 for 18kg of Iams, and then take off our 10% discount...

I must admit my dogs are fairly lean, one has to stay lean...

My mums greyhounds all get fat and they are the ones in work

What was their exercise level like?

We buy the 18kg bags of Iams at the moment...definitely works out cheaper

I would be heading towards mature/senior as all my hounds are getting over the hill

Don't think they will need the maximum energy, maybe years ago

They are currently on Iams, don't really have a problem with it, but just feel that they could be doing better...

Someone PM'd me about another type of food, so will look into that too
