Fantastic News......Intravet who supply Caninsulin Insulin have agreed to donate a start up sponsorship for Spice by donating 10 bottles of Insulin........WWWWOOOOOOHOOOOOO This is fantastic as she goes through approx 1 bottle per fortnight at approx $60.00 per bottle....... I am over the mooooooon :D

I admire you and send you lots of love Shek, Jaida will be running free and all of us will have you both in our thoughts and prayers. There is not a way for me to put into words - but you have given your girl the most wonderful life and now you are in an unselfish way giving her a new life to run free and live on in the memories of all who met her or saw her pics on here.....hugs

Oh Shek you will know when the time is right.....as has been said they have that Look in their eyes that asks you to give them their wings. Hard as it is for you to actually take her the love that you have shared will live on forever. I am praying for you and wishing you strength - the thought that the 4 day weekend coming up is something to take into account unless you have Vet available 24/7. Hugs and prayers for you both.

:p Spice was weighed yesterday and is 26.1kg..........wooo hoo This is a fantastic result in one week from 24.6 to- 26.1 Another thing is that we initially thought Spice had been desexed due to a scar on her belly BUT it might have been either a Hernia or maybe Caesar op scar as she has now come into season. Which shows that her body is coming back to normal. I will not have her desexed for at least another 3 - 4 months until her BSL and weight have stabilized a bit more. Cheeers and once again Thanks for your support.

Spice update.....her BSL have been between 9.4 and 12.6 the last two days so I am sure with the extra weight......24.6kg on Sunday combined with the up in level of insulin to match her weight she is stabilizing....woo hoooo here are a couple of pics taken this morning with her best friend Zoe......lol

Spice is back home from hospital again and is doing really well her BSL is between 19.5 and 9.6 which we all know is still a bit high but at least it is stable. I would Like to say a BIG Congratulations to Baifra on the Birth of her Baby on Monday......all we need now are the details/ Channel 9 did there final shoot of Spice yesterday and were really happy with her progress. They had me running with her......rolling on the grass and kissing her........duh and I am sure I made a dill of myself as usual during the interview.....I will let you know What the Show is called and the dates etc. when they let me know. They are going up to Sydney to film LMWS who first took Spice in and film her and her Healthy White Shepherds. Thanks Michael and your know what this is for.....your a Kind Wonderful person.

Spices levels hit 33.3 at 7pm so back to the Hospital. Finally back from Lort Smith and Spice is in ICU again having her BSL curve taken so I may get to bring her home tomorrow I hope. Channel 9 have been filming sick and injured animals since October for a Documentary and happened to notice Spice whilst in ICU and on Saturday after Darling Jackson crossed the rainbow bridge they asked about Spices story and have been filming her every day since Saturday doing interviews with Me.......ewwwwwwww Vets and Nurses looking after Spice. They contacted me again today and want to Make it a feature story so the White Sheps will get a bit of Publicity....woo hoo The film crew want to go up to Sydney to meet LMWS and her dogs so they can see what a healthy Whites should look like... Filming finishes on 14th March and when they were told that Spice was back tonight they sent a crew straight away.....I was blubbering like a fool.

Spice is not too well today and i took her to be weighed and she has lost 1.5 kg in a week.....grrrrrr so I rang a Wonderful Vet in Sydney named Karen Hedberg as advised by Lynn and Rob and also Ian and Phillipa. This wonderful Vet was just about to go into surgery but took the time to talk to me and advise what foods need to be adjusted to help her with her weight gain whilst maintaining her bsl. She just chatted to me like I was an old friend and wants me to call her back next week. Thankyou Ian and Phillipa once again for supplying Suitable food for Spice. Hugs to you all.

:D :D Spice is HOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE I am sooooooo excited LOL OOPs forgot to post in here that Channel 9 are doing a Dogumentary and have followed Spice each day and filmed her leaving today....it will go to air after Easter they are all heartbroken about her plight...... She looks great but was a bit confused with all the cameras etc. thought she was just going to be taken back to the ICU When we pulled up and saw the Cavs waiting at the gate she did the Wooooo Woooooo noise and has spent the last 1/2 hour looking for Zoe the cat who just showed up.....so now Spice is one Happy Girl..............lol She grabbed her sqeeky toy and has just been walking around looking at everything......as if to say wow its all still here...... They put her on Hills WD ;) so the Cameraman did a closeup of the Bag and then asked how much it would cost....I told him it is the High End of the Market....and that I would live on Bread and Water....heheheheh he told me to ring them and get a few bags free because of the free advertising......I will ......just watch me LOL boy the cup of food she has to have is 1/4 the size of the Neutro and she is to only have 4 cups - nothing else......poor girl I will feel mean...but if it is what she needs that is what she gets. They didn't give me the bill they are going to post it -------so I have a week to move house LOL I told the young Vet Nurse that the payment would be made like the drip that was in Spices leg. Then because I got held up for over an hour to collect her I got a $60.00 parking ticket but I can make that dissapear by stating that I was collecting a dog from ICU. Going to HUG my girl again now. cheers

Spice report......... Her BSL dropped to 3.4 at 1.00pm after being 6.4 at 10am. She is Happy Healthy and wanting that darn collar off..... They are really puzzled with the huge drop as well I know this might be going to sound really dumb BUT What if her original levels were caused by her emaciated state ? and an infection - either Hip or Mouth ? When we sarted her on insulin and increased it due to her increase in weight - Her BSL has gotten higher and higher. Most dogs who develop diabetes are overweight.........so with her being soooooo underweight ???? Having not been fed for god only knows how long before LMWS rescued her maybe just maybe her body was in survival mode to keep her alive. Since being admitted to hosptal and on Anti-biotics her levels are dropping to a dangerous low....with the 14u twice daily. Sheesh I am grasping at straws but it makes sence to me...........UMMMMMM maybe it does ..... Anyhoooooooo her she is in ICU.....she hates the Collar but whe I say Drop for Mummy she does it and is so calm.

Morning I have just spoken with the hospital and Spices BSL is Low........6.4 so they are concerned and she will not be discharged until it is stable Which is better for her but sad for me Gosh from 33.3 Plus to 6.4......what a huge swing. They said she is HAPPY HUNGRY but still in ICU.....so I will be off to visit her soon cheers

Oh Anthony. you are so kind....I thank you for the offer but as you state baifra and Sammy need this more than Spice at this stage as Spice has no trouble with her joints or movement at the moment I think you are a wonderful person and so generous Anthony a Real Animal Lover.... :D Just got back from visiting Spice and she was soooooooooo happy to see me but looked so funny with a collar on her head...she pulled the drip out this morning LOL........she is the Love of all the staff and I put a picture on her cage of what she looked like on the 5/1/08 when LMWS first got her.....they were all so shocked and happy with her progress Her BSL was down to 19.1 and the ICU Nurse said she is so sweet lets them take her blood without a flinch... I will go back again in the morning or maybe even tonight.....can't stay away. Thanks for the support.

Just rang the Lort Smith (couldn't wait till 12.00) Spice is alert, Happy, and very friendly this morning - she is still on the drip...and is Hungry and Happy Her levels are at 23.3 and they are doing 2 hourly BSL I am off to visit her because visiting is between 12 and 6....... Thanks guys.....I will report back.

A bit of sad news this morning, Spices BSL went up over 33.3 so I rushed her off to the Lort Smith last night at 7.30 as it was the closest and my Vet was at a meeting and not going to be home until after 10pm Spice is in Intensive care on a drip and having a fasting BSL done today. The Vet said she looked really good for one with such a high Level. Spice will probably be there for a couple of days and I can visit her though. The level could have spiked due to a minor infection, possibly her teeth because they are so warn from chewing on the bars of whatever the had her locked up in. They have her on a drip and are starting anti biotics I will keep you all posted on her progress.......as you can imaging I am a mess....but I know she will be fine.

The Hug Emotion is missing so I am sending HUGS and special Prayers for Sophie Zed Pearl and all the other sick puppies. I hope you are having a Pain Free Happy Day Today. Thanks Anthony for your kind words and advice, Spice did have a 4.3 reading one day and I rubbed honey on her gums ....she was looking ok but dribbling a lot ......The Vet said that was great so I carry honey with me now......Is that ok...it worked. But would glucose work quicker....?????? cheers.

As promised I have taken some more pics today. Well we have had a bit of an up and down BSL still but I hope it will eventually stabilize a little better. Last night it was 31.2 at 11pm......she was shaking so I gave her another 5u of insulin.????? this morning at 7am it was 14.2 and a mch happier dog... Can you please let me know if I did the right thing....I will be talking to the Vet today......cheers Kay This wonderful dog can tell the TIME -hen it is time for her blood test - every three hours she comes into the Kitchen - Drops with a groan. Looks at the Glucometer - relaxes waits for the Click of the Lancet Then listens for the Beep Beep Then sits up for her Treat. She is soooooooo wonderful that words can't explain How I feel about her. I had a dream last night of walking a Healthy Happy Fluffy White Dog through the local Park......She had a Purple Coat on with White Shepherd Rescue on one side and I am a Diabetic Dog on the other...... This Dream will be a reality soon.

Now with your passing you are still giving love and support to all the unwell - I have definately made a promise to you Keisha to make sure every minute with my Furkids is as normal as possible.
