  1. Thank you all for your kind words. Koda developed what at first was thought to be wobblers - after specialist testing wobblers was ruled out. Within a 3 week period koda went from a normal healthy puppy to a little bit wobbly then to not being able to walk at all. X-rays showed nothing , MRI showed nothing . We tried hydrotherapy but nothing helped. After talking with the specialist and the vet involved it was decided that the kindest thing for Koda was to give him his wings. We will never get a definitive diagnosis but the specialist thinks that it was a brain related issue and was very fast progressing . We could had done a multitude of other tests but honestly seeing what he was going through we weren't prepared to put him through anymore especially when the outcome was so bleak. Koda is at peace now and waiting. Thank you all again
  2. Yes Koda was one of Narlas babies and he should have had a long happy life ahead of him . For reasons we will never understand that was not to be. But in his short life he knew he was loved .

  4. We only had you with us for such a short moment in time - you were just a baby at 5 months old. We would have done anything to keep you with us but it was not meant to be and giving you your wings was the kindest thing but the hardest thing to do . You were wanted and you were very much loved. We miss you and we will miss all the years we should of had with you Run free our big boy and wait for us at the bridge. Koda forever xxxxxxx
  5. Tinker had her surgery for her left leg on the 23rd and the specialist said it was actually worse than he originality thought and even though he us very pleased with how the surgery went she us in a lot of pain . Much worse than her right leg and we thought that was bad enough. Thanks for the suggestions and will definately be trying the rose-hip vital canine . I don't care if she walks a little weird I just want her not to be in pain anymore .
  6. Hi, hoping for some advise - I have a 10 month old American bulldog who had luxating patella surgery grade 4- 9weeks ago and goes back into surgery Wednesday for surgery on her other back leg grade 3-4. Her right leg that she has already had surgery on is brilliant and healed beautifully. My question is - does anyone know of a supplement that i can give her that will help ward of early onset of arthritis. Being so young and having had 2 patella surgeries I'm worried about arthritis at a young age . Any advice will be appreciated.
  7. Thanks Danny's Darling . The specialist is confident that Tinker will make a great recovery :-). I am sure Koda is going to be so happy to be able to play with her again. I'll post pics of Koda as soon as I figure out how to x

  10. Hi everyone , Koda us doing beautifully, I'm sure I could watch him growing everyday - he is huge lol. He is so gentle and loving and the biggest sook. His sister Tinker (American bulldog) and he get on famously but at the moment and for the next 9 weeks they can't play - tinker a week ago had to have an operation for a trauma induced (playing with a friends staffy) grade 111 luxating patella. Koda can see her but they can't play . He's getting heaps of love and attention and my daughter brings her 2 dogs over to play with him every second day . He loves the beach and the car , loves the cats and the little dogs - doesn't like being left on his own very much but we are working on that. I would love to put up some pics of him but have no idea how to (computer illiterate ). If someone can tell me how ill post some of the gorgeous boy .

  14. So very very happy for Narla. May she have a happy and long life - bless her . I can guarantee you that Koda will have a great life with us. After following the journey of Narla and her babies through your posts - I never dreamt I would be bringing one home to be part of my family. You did an amazing job for that little fur family and I promise I will do the same for Koda . I can hardly wait to meet him xx
  15. Thank you all so much for your Replies. It was lovely seeing the video of chad what a clever little man. I have decided against the dog park only because most of the dogs there are huge and even though I'm sure they wouldn't mean to hurt nemo it could be done accidentally. If anyone knows of a good trainer in north brisbane I would love their name. He is very well socialized luckily as my daughter runs a dog grooming business and nemo meets many dogs as well as daily playing with my daughters dogs. Thank you all again

  17. Hi, I am hoping for some help on this topic. As i have mainly only had large breeds during my childhood and adulthood and now i own a wee little chihuahua i am getting very frustrated with the lack of training he is getting from me included. He is very tiny at 17 weeks he is still under a kilo but very very healthy and sure of himself. I was going to take him to puppy training with a friend of mine who has just started her 6 month old maltese girl in the obedience class. She was telling the instructor that she had a friend with a tiny chihuahua who would love to join and his comment back to her was - "why bother , there is nothing you can do to train them" . I have no idea if that is true or not or if that it may take me a lot longer to train him. I have found his toilet training has gone extremely well and that didnt take long at all. I will admit to having a bit of a hard time with his recall etc but thought that was just because of his age. Even though he is tiny i still want a dog that i can walk, let of leash at the dog park, the dog beach etc . I also have a larger dog that goes to all these places and i dont want little Nemo missing out because i cant trust him . Any help would be appreciated especially if someone has a chihuahua who is trained well. Thanks in advance . Nikki
  18. Yes the Kallangur Produce has moved to Narangba. Over the railway lines, through the lights and over the other side of the road turn right. Being run by the same Lady and have same stock. Kallangur Produce has or is being reopened by the same guy that used to run the Lawnton Produce.
  19. Hi Megzz, Sorry to hear about your baby. I have a 19 month old toy poodle who had a catagory 4 luxating patella. The only choice we had was surgery as she was in a lot of pain with her leg. She has luxating patella in her other back leg as well but it is not as severe and at this moment in time it doesn't seem to cause her any problems at all. She had her surgery about 5 months ago and is doing really well. She does have a slight limp on the leg that was operated on but generally is good. Doesn't seem to have any pain at all with it anymore. Vet did advise us that she will more than likely have arthritis in the leg as she gets older. Hope this helps Nicola
