I explained our system to an American friend and she said, oh it's the same as the UKC so try pointing them in that direction.
I am trying to explain it to them and to be honest they are not getting it
So I am hoping there is something out there that explains it all for me and maybe they will get it then?

I'm looking at a trailer made entirely of checker plate and it has no lining.
Has anyone owned one of these and what did you think of it I'm worried it will be hot for the dogs.
Current owner used it for Bullmastiffs and says it was great and stayed cool.
Any advice please as it ticks all the other boxes.
It reminds me of the hunting dog trailers.
I haven't owned one but there is a lot of weight in checker plate. I would be more concerned about my fuel consumption and wear & tear on my towing vehicle. Just my 2 cents worth....

It's taken awhile, but I think judges are getting used to seeing tails now and CAN look past it
LOL u think? I showed my Schipperke in Gilgandra a couple of weeks ago and the Judges comment was "Gee, they really look different with a tail!" So whilst that may be true in some breeds, unfortunately that doesn't appear to be the case with Schipperkes.
I had a Canadian judge say similar to me about the OES I was showing "it's the first time I've judged them with a tail and it's a lot to get used to". He went on to put him up for BOB. Just because they commented on the tail it doesn't mean they were biased about them having one.
Unfortunately, I have found that every time they make a comment about the tail they then proceed to put up the docked dogs. The ones that don't say anything or have something complimentary to say about the tail, usually go for the tailed dogs....

Does anyone know of some cheapish accomodation near Taree showgrounds that takes pets?
You can camp at the showgrounds...

Thank you, Ellz he was just over 3 months old and had only had a couple of shows and was great with great results
but then a "judge " grabbed at his mouth and even though he squeeled was determined to check his teeth and from
then on just shied off big time. I held him out and slowly brought him back into the ring he is now 8mths old.
I am trying to make it fun and just relax with him so maybe not showing every week for time being may help. It is
frustrating as I really like this boy has great movement when he relaxes and nice on the stack. Am quite happy
to take it slow with him.
I had this exact same problem with a young bitch I was showing. After the bad experience she would try and jump off the table every time she saw the Judge approaching. I took the opportunity to still show her but explained to the Judge BEFORE they even approached her that she had had a bad experience on the table. I appreciate the time and effort ALL of the Judges took in being extremely gentle with her and after a couple of months she soon relaxed on the table and was no longer looking for an escape route every time...

I know of One Schipperke in SA, one in QLD and two in Vic that gained their Supremes on the weekend.
Looks like Canine councils will be busy making new pedigrees etc in the next couple of weeks.
I feel for the person that does these only at the end of the month at VCA.
BB
and one Schipperke in NSW. Also 4 Bearded Collies got their Supreme in NSW with one getting her Grand & Supreme on the same day and did it in style with 2 BIG's on the weekend...

As far as in their controlling body and processed I think the ESS has it but I'm unsure why some of the big states didn't decide to have a show on Monday the 2nd, could have made for an interesting day.
I would think some of the Queensland dogs would have got it first as they had a show on Tuesday. Don't forget, you are only eligible AFTER 1st July so if you got your CC on the 1st of July you would still need one CC for your Supreme...

I had my girl desexed in April, and am keen to attend my first show as a neuter, where I plan on catching up with a breeder friend/mentor.
Problem is, I only just read the fine print on my entry form today, I need to change her details with ANKC/dogsnsw so that they know she's spayed. Kicking myself for only reading that today, I've only got until the 9th to get my entry in.
Question is, can I send my form express post to dogsnsw, and that be ok to enter still, hoping I get my papers back by the actual show on the 27th of July? I need to send her Papers for them to stamp them 'spayed' But would I need that on me for the show? I have her spay certificate that I could take with me. And I guess I could ask them to express process it back, if i need to.
If there is no hope, I'm happy to just attend the show and maybe help my friend with her 4 dogs :) but I would love to maybe get my girl some neuter points.
Yes, I think you have time. Send the neuter certificate (and her paperwork)to Dogs NSW ASAP. You should get them back fairly quickly, certainly before the date of the show.

As previously stated, most shows in NSW give a breed breakdown when numbers are posted to exhibitors. Interestingly enough, most of these shows are listed on OzEntries and the majority of entries are received via same. You may be interested to know that of the 1000+ entries for the recent St George District Kennel Club Show, approximately 850 of those entries were done via OzEntries. As most people would know, shows that are listed on OzEntries generally close 7-10 days before the show so I guess that my question would be, if the show secretaries in NSW can make all this information available to exhibitors (whilst working within a very small time frame for preparation of catalogues and mailing of numbers), why do other States have a problem with doing this also?

My peev from last weekends show!!! Ok, so it's raining, Judge short lists her BIG lineup. I'm thinking, isn't that nice of her, not keeping everybody out in the rain when she isn't interested in them. WRONG!!! Judge takes her short list undercover and runs them from there but leaves the rest of us standing out in the rain until finally the steward realises we are still standing there and dismisses us from the ring....
yes, I know this is supposed to be a light-hearted thread but on the upside, I got a cold for free!!!

Multiple dogs in multiple classes in one breed and only one show lead. Seems to be a Group 1 issue
A very long walk to the loos or the coffee van.
Awwwww come on, when you have that many Chihuahua's to feed you can't really afford more than one lead....

my peev from yesterday. People coming to the Secretary's Hut and claiming that they ordered a catalogue on OzEntries but their envelope doesn't have a CATALOGUE stamp on it. The show secretary politely stating that she also keeps a list and on checking that list, finds that the exhibitor did NOT order a catalogue and said exhibitor (of which there were an amazing amount) wandering away without purchasing a $3 full catalogue or $1.50 group catalogue...

Can anyone tell me who was BIS at this Show please.
TIA!
American Cocker

I use check chains on my Schipperkes and sometimes on my Havanese (if they don't behave themselves). You can order a check chain online from
https://www.petcetera.com.au/index.php?l=product_detail&p=642
or if you are anywhere close to Vineyard you can go to their store and get one. Petcetera is Peter & Trish Cutler's show van that is at Erskine Park.
