  1. awwww she's just gorgeous!!! enjoy!!
  2. Sorry. i should have gone to look at the clipppers for the spelling. lol...and yes are so right, they get hot, i now remember wearing gloves to keep my hands cool. Maybe will get another clipper, easier etc to clip him. The oster set is getting old. We will be taking him to the pet place for some time yet, they do such a great job and we dont wish to fight him and make him hate it. He lets me clean his eyes now, and even lets me pull the hair outta his ears.
  3. I have Oscar clippers in the cupboard, but when i tried to do his face....well, he just wouldnt let me, so off to the pet palour he went. They are great there, did a great job, will take him back a few more times before i try to do him myself again. The mini poodle i had years ago was great. she used to just stand and let me trim, clip etc, til finished. Benji though, he just dont like it. No one mentioned oscar clippers...arent they being made anymore? or arent they any good? Please let me know, cause I wont use them if not good.
  4. Yes, our pup was very socialised also. He's had no problem at the nursing home either, lets everyone pat him. but, he's at that age, testing me. Today he decided the dig up the lawn, when i told him 'no', he then splashed around his water bowl and made such a mess....we DO still love him though lol
  5. I dont work at BigW either, but do like their toys from there. I cant really say which ones would be good though for a wolfhound. The advice so far is good. Just wanted to say BigW is good.
  6. Im still rather new to this forum, but Im not so new to the world. I had to save for ages to get my toy poodle, but I just knew to buy him from a registered breeder and not from a BYB. He was 11 weeks old when we picked him up, and although I may have preferred him a bit younger, he has been so easy to toilet train. That alone is a blessing. As to getting him at 11 weeks, I contacted the breeder as soon as I had the money in the bank, and she sent me his pic, I feel in love with the pic, and went next day to pick him up..SOLD!!! lol (MY bank account hasnt recovered yet)
  7. What did you do when found she had done the wee on her bed? I know most dogs wont wee in their bed, but I had one that did that years ago, trying to think now what we did to stop her also. I know we had to get rid of the bed and get another one. Once they wee there, they think tis ok. That is why I dont give a puppy a bed til they are older, I use a cardboard box til then. But GSD is so much bigger and a cardboard box isnt that good for them. At 11 weeks she sould be able to hold for awhile. But puppies, some can, some cant. I had my puppy beside our bed, and he wakes us up when he wants to go, he's now 15 weeks old. But he's a toy poodle and fits beside the bed. Im looking forward to other replies bout this problem. I love GSDs, bet she is a lovely dog otherwise. She will learn what is acceptable and what is not soon enough, but til then, they sure can give you stress !!!!!
  8. thank God for wonderful groomers who just love dogs...and poor dogs that come in with all those problems. Some people are just too embarrassed to take to the vet. But if they take to groomers, well they should be able enough to take to the vet.
  9. Hi there Bloss...from me another Bloss...and there is also a Blossom around also. Must be all dog lovers...wd i say!!
  10. ahhhhh the ears. Now our puppy just hates having the fur pulled from his ears. I couldnt trim his face, but the place I took him to - to have it done, didnt have a problem. I think he has me trained. Dont touch my ears, thank you. The people who trimmed him told me to keep doing it often, til he gets used to it. I've been doing that and he isnt complaing quite as much.
  11. OMG!! maybe another vet. ALL dogs not for breeding or showing should be desexed, but I know some people don't like desexing their dogs. each to their own over this. I've always desexed my pets. Our puppy will be desexed when he's old enough. I've never heard a vet say it is unnatural. Must tell my vet bout this next visit also.
  12. Glad you mentioned mobic, cause my partner uses it for his back pain. We will have our pup desexed at around 6 months...handy to know I can use the mobic, will ask the vet how much to give him though, no guessing games here.
