  1. What about woofpurnay? I don't know if they have their own machine, but given the size of the practice they'd be worth a try. Otherwise Monash vet you can drop it to the lab yourself and get results pretty quick (well you could when I went there a while ago).
  2. If she's not taking notice of advice she paid for (assuming she did, if not probably why she won't listen to what the behaviourist told her), she won't listen to anyone else. Funny how people only value advice when they pay for it.
  3. With the GSDs I've found they get an almost woolly coat when desexed. Being months past a season is not uncommon after rehoming though. I know of bitches who have gone from being 4 monthly to having a 12 month break, purely from change of environment.
  4. He probably looks bigger cos he's fluffier too oakeydoak1. He's about 4kg at the moment (well was 3.5kg last Thurs when I wormed him). He is enjoying his meals now too the piggy. Now if only I could find someone with a litter similar age in Victoria for him to play with and learn some important doggy lessons. Don't have any specific origins for the name. I have a list of names for his registered name (which I want to play on either singleton or money theme), just trying to narrow down a call name. So far I have; Anzac Atlas Angus Cash (not A, but as All Cashed up is one of the short listed names, it sorta fits).
  5. One of the private trainers was sort of what I was thinking of, but didn't know which of them ran/run puppy classes. I wasn't aware Erny was running puppy classes (although has been a looonnngg time since I spoke to her as I've lived up here for nearly 2 years). Don't know why I didn't think of Cosmolo.... Problem with Westernport I realised Murve, is that I often go the the shepherd club at the same time/day, and think 2 in one day would just be too close together for his little baby brain. I'm hoping to take him to both. I think I'll visit a few recommended ones, and see which one I'm happiest with.
  6. Here is my lil man. He's 4 1/2 weeks now. :D Still no name, would like to find a strong boy name, preferably (but not essential) one starting with A. Stacking practice
  7. My bitch had a singleton and was a maiden. The vet had me bring her in daily to ultrasound and check the pup's heart rate. When it started to get a little slower, we checked twice a day, and did a caesar on her due date. She wanted to make sure we went in at the right time, so the puppy was developed but not distressed by time of delivery. My girl showed no signs of labour, no nesting, etc, no temp drop despite stopping the progesterone supplement.
  8. Ok, thanks murve, will organise to meet up with you when he's a bit closer to the right age (and me to moving and knowing where I'll live). Do you guys run Westernport club? Or elsewhere? He's probably already bigger than your adult paps! I also have a male GSD, who is a very balanced, calm dog that I'd be happy to use to work with fearful dogs. He'll be great with the pup too, but I think he might let him get away with a little too much.
  9. I have mum, and he's still in with her (and she'll play with him and discipline him), but as he's a singleton, no litter mates unfortunately. This is the main reason I would like someone who knows what they're talking about with dog behaviour and body language, as it needs to be a positive and educational experience for him. Actually, it would be great to find people with balanced, not over the top dogs for him to interact and play with as well. I'd like to try and make up for what he's missing not having litter mates as much as possible. If only I knew someone with a litter similar age that he could go and visit to learn some doggy things from..... ETA- I have had somewhere in Ferntree Gulley recommended by my bitche's breeder, as well as one down in Geelong. I'm happy to drive if I need to, but the closer the better obviously.
  10. I have a singleton puppy who is now 4 weeks old. ETA- I'm obviously looking for when he's older and can go out to puppy school. I am hoping to find a decent puppy school, where the instructors have good knowledge of dog behaviour. Given he's not getting the socialisation of litter mates, I need somewhere pretty special to help me teach him these doggy manners he could miss out on. His mum is doing a brilliant job, but I'd love him to get a bit of healthy interaction with other dogs his own size/age. I live in Bendigo, but will be moving to the other side of Melbourne around when he's old enough (not sure where yet, still looking at properties, but likely Gembrook or Seville areas), so am willing to travel for the right place.
  11. Did they find a bitch? Such a pity they're not in Victoria....
  12. All within pretty close walking distance, but might depend on how much luggage you have, and how easy it is to take it that far.
  13. Ah yes MM, bit yours will weigh more than 7Kg when he's grown up Yes that's a very good point! He'll probably be over 7kg by 8 weeks of age at this rate. When do other puppies normally start walking, etc? My boy is 3 weeks Thursday and has had eyes open for a week, ears open about 2 days, and is wobbily walking his way around the box. I think he'll be walking confidentally in the next couple of days, so just before 3 weeks.
  14. Gee they look so much bigger than that! My lil guy is over 2kg now, so looks like he's the fatty!
