  1. Kiba & Rune - Brother & Sister

    Both Piebald Siberian Huskies

In this pic they are 11 weeks.

Both come from very strong running lines so they won't be the fluffy show type sibes you mainly see.

Loves, digging holes and running!!! as well as the odd occasion there they stop and chew on each others ears and necks then it 's back to running.

  2. they are probably still a bit sore and need some time out. Its quite a procedure for a dog and her hormones will be all over the place.

If you are the boss you wont have problems. Dont fuss over them but give them a bit of space

    Thanks for the advice.

They are both foster dogs so they have only been with me for a short time.

I might keep them seperate until she calms down.

  3. I have a female foster dog with me at the moment who was desexed on Thursday of last week.

She has been kennelled and has spend the last 6mths with a male companion and there has been no issues.

Since her op she was been very snappy and dominant with the boy and is generally not behaving like her normal happy self.

In the last couple of days she has taken to burying her food and not letting the boy eat. He is quite submissive with her so there haven't been

any major scuffles between the two of them.

Her scar doesn't not look red or sore so I am wondering if it is just hormonal??

Has anyone else had a girl act like this after desexing?

  4. I've just experienced this situation.

I have 2 sibes, a male nearly 8 and female who is 7. I have only had them for around 1 year.

before they were with me they were always with others sibes at the breeders and are well socialised

I just took in a girl who was returned to her breeder as the elderly owners finally realised that they could not look after her (she is 15kg overweight) She is nearly 2 and hasn't been socialised well with other dogs and seems to have been starved of human attention.

When I introduced her to my 2 dogs they got on fine, however within a couple of days whenever

us humans are around she stalks my girl until she snaps and they fight. She is obviously jealous of the other dogs getting

any attention from us. When alone in the backyard there wasn't a problem.

As a result of this she has gone back to the breeder to learn a few manners and hopefully get used to life with other dogs

and then will come back to us. At moment were I live we are unable to seperate the dogs unless we have some inside and some out,

but with young kids it's hard.

I'm moving in a months time to a property were each dog will have their own run so at least then things will be safer till they sort out

    there differences

  5. I don't know the ins and outs of eye probems etc but I will post pics of my Merlin when I first got him.

I have had him for only a 4mths and he had been diagnosied with Corneal Dystrophy a year or so ago.

You can clearly see his eye is stained.

In saying that since I have had him and he is not in a dry dust filled environment his eye has all but cleared.

So in this case I would say definately not related.

  6. Hi All I'm also from the gong, Warilla to be exact. We live quite close to the beach so my pooches have a great backyard to play in.

    I've attached some pics.

I've just started getting them into sled dog racing with our first competitive event on Sat. So if you see someone being towed along the beach that'll be me.

Should be lots of fun as long as they don't run me ito the bushes I'll be happy.
