IF you have choosen a ''GOOD '' breeder, they will know better than you which puppy will suit yr life style .
They have spent many hours raising & watching thier litter .
I always say ,go with the one that tugs yr heart strings hardest !!!!

dont force mumma to bond ,she will do it in her own time ,with the advise given by op .but do supervise her & make her feel special .
I suggest warm water ,not baby oil to toilet him, if needs be ,but mumma will do it once she has accepted pups arrival .good luck

Hi ,welcome to the wonderfull world of cocker spaniels ..
Do u imerse yr pup in water when bathing ???
I have found it less of a threat to a pup,to stand in empty vessel & use hand held shower attatment or jugs of warm water, to soak the coat befor attempting to add shampoo, then rinse well ,talking to yr pup, calming it as u bath ,then dry well ,special attention must be paid to ears ,& playcing yr finger or thumb in ear as u are washing ears, also do not put water over dogshead ,but wipe face clean with a cloth .
Cant asdvise aboutthe eye ,but seek vets advise .Photos wouldhelp ,if it is cherry eye it need fixing ,sooner rather than later .

If its a long eared breed ,Yes snoods would help .

I can only add my personal experiance with cockers
Imo a dog is 99% its owner !!if u r lay back so will your dog be !!!
My own cockers range from lay back to naturally busy .
They are just as happy being a lounge lizard ,as frolicking through the medows
I have yet to meet one that isnt great with kids !!.

Here is another NO!!
I have been breeding fo many yeas ,& thought I had a good judgement of charecter !!!
I to have a desexing /puppy purchase agreement ,but have to tell u, they in reality are worthless .
Having recently been stung by a right "B""I can asure u of this ,once u let that puppy go there is NOTHING u can do if the woman betrays your trust .
The life & welfare of any puppyis not worth the risk of trustingsome one who"" fancies becomeing a breeder ""
I suggest u tell them puppy is going to be desexed before leaving yr care .
If the dont run a mile @ that, then ask for a substancial desexing deposit ,which u will refund on sighting proof of desexing .
we may all sound a bit sinical ,but with experiace comes wisdom .
here is your chance not to be in the position, im sure many breeders may have been ,when they first began to trust .

Yep normal behaviour .In the wilds thats what they did to feed thier young .
-
Imo ,Its all part of the learning game

I would say Jessie is picking up on yr conserns ??
Drop the morning feed & any treats ,try feeding her soaked kibble with maybe chicken mixed in .soak her kibble in chicken stock or vegimite dissoved in hot water .
serve her meal @ room tempreture & if she dosnt eat within 15 min take it away, till next meal time .
U could also as a last resort pretend to eat it yrself first .
May be a vet check is in order ??
-
I would definately want to be told if it was one of my pups .

Have to agree with MTD ,cockers r very people orintaited ,they dont care what your doing !as long as they can be doing it with you .!!!not the sort of dog that u leave outside imo .
