  1. I am quitting this challenge so wanted to give you guys the list and say thanks for the photos and challenges so far this year. I hope you guys rock the rest of 2013 :) gapvic rallyvalley crazycresties snook cougar monet & diva clicking mad dogsportobsesed piper sammieS
  2. It's great so far. No problems at all. Will likely do pretty much all edits from now in it instead of LR4.
  3. Whoops, it's a 1.8, not 1.4. Blame my brain and the multiple beers I've had today LOL But I do adore this lens - even more than the 1.2 85mm that I've played with.
  4. Canon version, 1.4. It's so yummy :)
  5. Oh how I adore, Thee. Why do I let thou languish in the box so often? Babysat two fabulous doggies today while their owners went out on the ocean. I had good intentions of working, but spent most of my time playing and shooting instead. Nala & Pinto (image on left is with the 135L, also dreamy, but too long for today!) Lobo Doesn't Tilly look even more pathetic for being out of the depth of field? Nala Pinto
  6. Theme # ? : landscape/seascape/architecture Shooting: 23 April - 7 May inclusing Post date: 8 May 2013 Hopefully more can participate. As this is OUR project, if you happen to also complete the last challenge, pop them up!!
  7. OK, maybe a couple days late! I'm not getting any stuff processed today - my first day off in a while - because I'm dog sitting two cuties and taking more photos of them and my furries instead LOL I've PMd the next chooser and hopefully she'll get back to me this arvo for an announcement tonight and shooting to start tomorrow!
  8. I will be posting a day late myself - only have a small bit of free time this whole weekend and won't have time to edit/upload til late Sun night.
  9. Still a few hours yet - just grab camera and GO. It's one I think "thinking" about isn't helping LOL
  10. New $25 savings on Click On Print books - ends 21 April.
  11. Don't forget - less than 48 hours left to shoot for this challenge :) I haven't started yet LOL
  12. I'm kinda glad that some of us are having to really step up for this one. That was my own hope & motivation for it - out of comfort zone, something totally new and with a specific goal in mind. We can do it!!
  13. Sure you will! No one said it has to be an all up in your face tight portrait - there's lots of options! I haven't done mine yet, hoping to do them day after tomorrow as I don't think I'll get a chance tomorrow since I went diving today. This is a real challenge for me - well outside my comfort zone and I'm going to have to really push to do it, but that's the whole point of this year long challenge :)
  14. Thanks, FM! :) Wasn't going to go out today but a friend called and we've been trying to catch up for months - so I went! Wasn't spectacular, but saw some neat stuff. Feather star curls Swam with dolphins before we hit the dive site. Found a baby perenti lizard on my bcd as I was putting my kit together on the boat - yikes! Startled me totally. At least I saw him before I took him underwater with me :D
  15. Not at the moment. 5 is a Beta only right now. It will run seperately to 4 but you can import the files back and forth. And I've caved and am in the process of downloading it now :)
  16. If you are considering Canon lenses or speedlights, you might want to check this out :) Shop shop shop
  17. Also be aware that if you aren't running a new OS, it might not work. A friend says it won't run on Leopard, for instance. I usually download the Beta pretty early, but I'm likely going to give this one a miss as I'm not finding much editing time lately so wouldn't be able to give it much of a go yet. Or maybe I will...some of the new features seem pretty hot!
  18. 15 April 2013 - Perenti Took doggies to beach for a swim and when we got back I couldn't let them out of the car coz my sometimes resident lizard was sitting all comfy in the driveway. He's so beautiful. (and OMG why don't I use my 135L all the time? dreamy)
  19. Cloud masses make amazing photos - again, the light is best just before sunrise so it's early early. Once the sun hits the horizon when it's super cloudy, often the sky is blah
  20. Sorry, the last two are wtih the camera's flash turned on :)
  21. Been about posting in here. Will try to be better. Little catch up from last few days: 14 April - snorkeling doggies at sunrise 13 April - morning kisses 11 April - Dora at sunrise
  22. Been out to a spot I hadn't been to in probably at least 10 years a couple of times this past week. Super awesome!! Turtles, lemon sharks, grey reef sharks, shovelnose rays, whiptail rays, cowtail rays, tons of trevally, rabbitfish, mullet, darts, permits and other schooling guys. Have decided it's going to be one of those places where I want someone with me as the first day the lemon sharks were a bit disconcerting with their darting in, stalking & general freaking me out behaviour :D yesterday we only saw a couple and they didn't come in as close or for as long - which was a shame coz I was ready for them this time LOL shovelnose rays everywhere screen grab from video: turtle eating the submerged leaves Not sure when I'll get back, have to wait for the next round of high tides!
  23. The only brief is: strangers, expression :) Up to our own interpretaions from there! I have to say I totally blew off what I was planning to do for this the other day, d'oh!! Didn't even think of it 'til I got home and it was far too late then. Back to the drawing board for idea #2 LOL
  24. Forgot to mention - I prefer presunrise light and that moment right when the sun is crossing the horizon. Right after, unless there are some nice clouds around, the sky can be really ugly or just meh. And ten minutes after sunrise usually the great light is done for the morning. For this area, I use Willy Weather to see the first light and sunrise times. First light for here is usually about 12-15 minutes BEFORE the first light time on WW, so you might have to allow some room for error :D
