    Puppy & The Rain

Phew, I thought I was the only one with wussy dogs. We have two 5 month old Staffies who dont like to get their coats wet, toilet training was going pretty well until today.

    Cant Wait?

Thats what annoys me about this forum, did you really have to mention that. Meg, ignore the negative comments, take the constructive ones, love your dog and it will work out fine.
  3. Thanks for the article. It is looking like the best thing to do would be to give one of them up. Is it cruel to leave one home alone for 8 hours a day, would it be best to give both of them up? This hurts so much, but I want to do what is best for the puppies not what is best for us. Because we do work and have fairly small house I don't think it is feasible we can do everything suggested in the article, along with future fighting issues there may be, I don't think we have much choice.
  4. We are located in Pascoe Vale, Melbourne. Can that sort of assessment be made at this age, they are 9 weeks. I havent owned a dog since I was a kid, but if people that havent owned dogs never owned dogs there would be no domesticated dogs. Having said that, I realise we have probably gone in a bit harder than most. The original idea between having 2 was to try to reduce the seperation anxiety while we are at work, but then this has backfired as this will mean they are alone for 9 hours a day. I think I mentioned in the original post that we did ask if it would cause any issues having 2 bitches. Edit: Spelling
  5. Thanks for the replies, there seems to be a wide variety of opinions and\or experiences and we are still unsure which way we will go, its very distressing.
  6. It's interesting to see the varied replies, I am a bit concerned now that we have done the wrong thing in getting 2 females. Even after only three days though it would find it hard to give either of them up, but maybe it is something I should think about now instead of having to do it in 6 months.
  7. We recently picked up our 2 SBT females who are 8 weeks old, they are very cute but also a lot of work, which was expected, but I have a couple of questions. 1) Will having 2 females create any issues, we will be having them de-sexed. 2) They fight (or play) a lot and there is a few concerning noises coming from them when they do, but they always go back for more. We havent been able to work out which is the dominant one as they seem to swap the agressor role often. Is the fighting a problem or is it puppy's playing aggressively? Their playing does become extra agressive now and then, at which point I seperate them, but as they will be alone sometimes I dont want them to seriously hurt each other, just wondering if this seems normal.
