  1. You are no doubt devastated by this. How sad. I had a small little chappie attacked by a large dog and whilst mine survived he was very lucky. The bruising would be awful.I have been bitten by a dog and the bruising from what is a minor bite is painful enough, let alone if it is more savage and on a small framed dog. You are both in my thoughts and prayers. Life can be a bummer sometimes.
  2. No, no mice...thank God!!I hate mice, especially dead, headless ones. No, I didnt taste it!! :eek : Doesnt look inviting in the least. No, it just looks different to what it used to, slightly different colour and my "I will eat anything that stands still" dog, doesnt scoff it down like she used to and turns her nose up at it, only eating a small amount, istead of the whole bowl. She is still hungry as she is stalking the cats for their food. I have left it in the bag, well closed up. However, I wil buy a bin and maybe a smaller size bag. This was 14kg Royal Canan. Thankyou for the replies.
  3. My doggie friends and I usually buy our dry food in bulk [not between us, as we use different brands] , obviously to cut back on the cost, but we are having problems with the quality of the food as it gets towards the bottom of the bags in those that buy the extra bigger bags.We have tried storing it in containers or still left in the bag, but closed off properly, yet still the last lot is a bit odd looking and the dogs are not interested in it.So, if we have to throw that quantity out then it isnt as cost effective after all. How do others store their dry food? What are we doing wrong?
  4. I would probably choose an organic meat diet, although a vegetarian myself, realise I cant impose that on my dog. I am considering changing the diet of my dog to the chicken carcass diet, as some people rave about it.Problem is, how many carcasses does the dog get at each meal, per size, small medium large and how many meals a day?? I too would have more dogs, and a walker and groomer on hand.
  5. What is Neem oil and where do you get it?
  6. Thankyou for the advice, I wont make that mistake again. The birds were okay, but it did seem an odd thing to suggest.Although a lot of what he suggested was , as I was to find out later, not worth much. Luckily I have moved to a different , much better vet.
  7. I would worry too, but my previous vet once told me to spray over the birds cage, with the bird still in it, so I guess it must be safe. There would be more toxic ones on the market by comparison, and I wouldnt use surface spray, as I believe that is heaps stronger.
