  1. Our Deerie also spent most of the day lying around but when he ran full speed he looked magnificent. He loved everyone and was always played nicely with other dogs and was very gentle with our cats. Sadly we lost him to bone cancer just short of his 5th birthday.
  2. I can't make it tomorrow as I have a Cat Show but looking forward to lots of photos !
  3. Sending good vibes for Earl and hugs to you - he is such a lovable problem child
  4. Great photos - it looks like lots of fun - Earl is the best I will definately have to get organised and get mmy 2 there next time
  5. I feel your pain - my wolfie x - Keely also demands grooming everyday all day if possible but my very heavy coated Lappie - Jaana tells me that she is not a girly dog and is more than happy to look after her coat herself especially with the added help of any very dead thing she can roll in !

  7. We love giant sighthound breeds but found it hard to cope with the short life span so we looked for a very healthy natural breed. We found a Finnish Lapphund breeder on DOL with a litter and she was so nice, friendly and helpful we didn't look any further ! Our Lappie is just adorable ! However I think we will also always have at least one bitsa rescue
  8. Yesterday 's meet was great but a bit cold ! and a big thankyou to Mrs Rusty Bucket for the beautiful slice -I will have a try at making it. I was too tired last night to put all the photos up but here they are and sorry I can't remember all the names Banshee Spitz play Esky Esky Kozzie and one of the Elkies doing the tango
  9. Yes I'm pretty sure Kozzie is coming
  10. It would be great if one of those mobile coffee vans could come past at about 1pm................
  11. I think it is a great pity that dog access is so restricted in Australia. I don't have any problems with dogs on public transport or in shops. In Europe dogs are allowed in shops, trains, trams and coffee shops and some places even had little dog play corners - all the dogs we saw were very well behaved and very friendly and well socialised. Everyone seemed to know and understand dog handling and because there were so many out and about it was not a novelty so we didn't see any incidents of people or children approaching dogs inappropriately. I heard the end of an intervie with a dog expert where she was saying that in her opinion the incident of dog bites would lessen if our dogs had more freedom in Australia.
  12. I have a friend with a kelpie that chases trains ! she has to be very careful to check the timetables
  13. This is a scam and has been done on all sorts of goods not just dogs. The way it works is the buyer pays $100,000 by cheque or western union and then contacts the seller and says that he has overpaid by an extra zero as price should have been $10,000 and asks seller to transfer difference back - $90,000 - seller does this and then bank informs that original payment by buyer is fraudulent - the buyer is overseas but not in the country stated so is near impossible to track down.
  14. Of course anyone can come - it will be lovely to meet you and your large hairies
  15. My Lappie - Jaana tells me off everytime I try to take her photo or howls
  16. Have you been able to get an update on the injured GSD ? and just for my 2 cents worth if my dog injured another I would offer to pay the vet bills
  17. That site has some great cat beds if only the cats would use them
  18. Sorry don't know how or if I can do it to your original post
  19. Yes I will be there on the 12th with Jaana of course
  20. I'd really like to come but I have a cat show - anyone interested in moving the meet to the following Sunday ?
  21. I don't approve of the way your neighbour is threatening you -firstly check with your council - I don't think there is anyway your dog can be "removed" from your house. If your neighbour does lodge a complaint then you will have a chance to reply and the complainant will have to keep a diary of the noise - it is a long process to go through.
  22. A couple of Lappies did the walk in Adelaide
