Hey guys, Afraid it's not looking good. I've come down with a cold myself, that leaves only 6 dogs. Sorry to let everyone down, but I'll probably have to call and cancel our booking tomorrow. Will check back here at about lunchtime to make sure we haven't had any additional interest. Have a nice weekend :)

For anyone who is on facebook, please feel free to add a link to this thread on the DOL Kepala Fun page (and please also let me know on here if others are coming along) :D Thanks

Hi Guys! Thought it was about time we put our names down for May! If you're keen to come along, just copy my second post and add your/ your dog's name/s to the list! "For anyone who does want to come along, there a few things to know: 1. We are going to have fun and let the dogs have fun (this is a big one!) 2. If your dog is not so good with others, it is ok because there are other runs you can use 3. We want ALL the dogs to have fun, so no humping, fighting etc allowed. And as above there are other runs we can use. 4. The more the merrier 5. Not restricted to DOL members 6. $15.00 PER dog (Sorry, but there is no discount for bringing multiple dogs/puppies, its $15 a dog/puppy. Has been this way since we started). 7. BYO drinks 8. We usually each bring something. 9. I am happy for those who do not bring food to pay $5.00 but i need to know how many are not bringing anything so I can make sure we have enough. Contact and Location Kepala Canine Country Club is located next door to Kepala Pet Resort. We are just off the Calder Hwy, directly opposite the Good Year Thunderdome. Refer to map below. Ok guys! Have just called and spoken to Dale this morning and he's approved a smaller group for tomorrow, so we're going ahead! 10.30am-1pm, same price, BYO lunch or eat on the go. Also, my aunty noticed we were low on doggies and asked if she could bring her 2 Cavvies, so they're coming too. :) So I think it's 9 dogs afterall. Look forward to seeing you all!

Hi Guys! Getting in early with our April date. We all had a lovely time at Kepala this month, it would be great if we could keep it up! :) If you're keen to come along, please add your name, your dog/s' name, and what you'd like to bring, to the list! Or, feel free to ask any questions. For those who haven't come along before, our DOL booking includes exclusive use of the Lagoon Pool, the main grassed run (with shade) and the newly renovated, fully enclosed, air conditioned BBQ verandah from 10am-2pm, and use of the other runs where available. A few of us also tend to hang around later than 2pm (Kepala are fine with that, there are always runs available). We will plan to have a BBQ for lunch, but in the event that we have a minimal attendance, we will just bring our own packed lunches. :) For anyone who does want to come along, there a few things to know: 1. We are going to have fun and let the dogs have fun (this is a big one!) 2. If your dog is not so good with others, it is ok because there are other runs you can use 3. deadsheep- Will be great to have you, your OH and Bronson with us on Sunday! Sorry, I'm late to put this on the thread, but another attendee already offered to bring the bread/rolls and butter, so just the chicken and onions would be perfect thank you! Don't worry about sauce, got it covered. :) Hi PeiLuvR! Hoping you can make it? Always exciting to have some unfamiliar faces join us! If you're still keen to come, please let us know if you'll be joining us for a BBQ, and if so, what you'd like to bring. Thanks! :D Yay! :D

For the past few meets, we decided to add a 'suggested items' list, as we've had a few catch-ups now where we've either had too much of some things or not enough of others :) I will cross things off this post, as attendees reply :) Below is a list of suggested BBQ foods if you struggle to think of what to bring: Sausages Hamburgers Veg. burgers/veg. option Chicken Leafy salad Pasta salad Potato salad Coleslaw Bread/bread rolls and butter/margarine- sweets a sweets b snack (chips) soft drink

Hi Guys! Getting in early with our March date. Was lovely to finally be at Kepala again this month, and would be even better to see more doggies next month! Providing it's not too hot a day, and there are enough attendees to cover it, we will be having a BBQ. In the event that we have a minimal attendance or it is too hot, we will just bring cold lunches like we did this month! :) For anyone who does want to come along, there a few things to know: 1. We are going to have fun and let the dogs have fun (this is a big one!) 2. If your dog is not so good with others, it is ok because there are other runs you can use 3. Hi Prag! Our official booking time is 10am until 2pm, during which we have exclusive use of the BBQ area, lagoon pool and main grass run. We can also use any other areas that are not in use by private bookings, which usually means we can at least have a play around in both the agility and sand runs at some point in the day. We are also welcome to hang around later than 2pm, in the main grass run, which a few of us usually do. We'd love to see you there! Cheers :D

Hi Guys! We finally have a date booked for Kepala, and quite a few of us are determined to go ahead with it, and to get back into our monthly meets! The doggies (and us) miss them too much! :D We'd love to see some old regulars return (no more excuses! haha), and we welcome newcomers and responsible doggie friends outside of DOL! For anyone who does want to come along, there a few things to know: 1. We are going to have fun and let the dogs have fun (this is a big one!) 2. If your dog is not so good with others, it is ok because there are other runs you can use 3. We want ALL the dogs to have fun, so no humping, fighting etc allowed. Help Me Socialize A Puppy? Melbourne (northern Suburbs)
pip1981 replied to Ruin Maniac's topic in General Dog Discussion
Hi There Ruin Maniac, I'm not a regular on DOL anymore, just happened to pop on here for a look today. I have 2 adult female Sammies, and am hoping to attend a community event tomorrow afternoon with one of them. Not sure where in Banyule you're located, but if it's not far from Mernda (in the city of Whittlesea) you might be keen to attend. Stockland (developers of housing estate Mernda Villages) have opened an off-leash dog park in Mernda and are holding a Dog's Day Out kind of event for locals to meet and greet with each other and a local groomer, dog training school, etc. My friend runs the school, and she will be demonstrating some agility and tricks. And there will be a free sausage sizzle. It goes from 4-6pm tomorrow (Sunday 20th), you may find more info online? I'm hoping to attend for a short while from 4pm, maybe Dakota and I will see you there, she's VERY playful, and LOVES puppies, in fact, she's a 5 year old puppy, LOL. :D Otherwise, I'm hoping to arrange a group meet at Kepala within the next month or so, as it's been too long, and I believe all the regular attendees have up to date vaccs, etc. Or I could possibly even arrange to meet up with you and Sully somewhere else sometime (Dakota is kept all up to date healthwise). Cheers :D -
Ummm, so I called Kepala to book, since we finally have enough dogs, and they are booked out every Sunday until the 23rd of December! So disappointing! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news guys!
