  3. I am free on the 11th, 18th and 25th, and when I called Kepala last week, I think those dates were all still available. SG, feel free to pick which suits you best (preferably 11th or 25th for LC) and start a thread if you like. As soon as we have 10 doggies, I'll book it in :D
  4. Hope you all had a good time, seemed it was a great day for the beach! And, yes, hopefully next month will be a success! :D
  5. Just bumping to see what folks are thinking???? Only 2 days away... :) Sorry SG, I looked up Altona and it sounds good, but very popular, especially on a weekend. Personally (and this is my fault of course) I don't feel I have enough control over Dakota around a large number of strange dogs and people in a big open space. But if that's where the majority would like to go, go for it, we can wait until next month! :)
  6. This might not suit everyone, but I thought I may as well suggest it. Our local council (City f Whittlesea) has 3 fenced off leash dog parks including permanent agility equipment. They are very grassy, and there are grassed areas surrounding the fenced park too. There is no shelter provided within the actual parks, so it would be weather permitting unless we travel to a nearby BBQ shelter, but if it's a nice day we could just bring picnic blankets, secure the doggies to the fence (on the outside of the park) and have a little picnic? Just bring a plate type thing instead of BBQ. The 3 parks are located in Thomastown, Epping North or South Morang. I can only vouch for the Epping North location, but I believe they are all similar. Obviously the only downfall, which is the same anywhere, is having to share with strangers/ strange dogs :/
  7. Well, I have CRAPTASTIC news They have a group of 30 dogs coming in on Sunday, and they are also completing renovations to the BBQ area, and so cannot accommodate us this Sunday. Dale did let me know most Sundays next month are still available at this stage, but can anyone think of anywhere else for this Sunday?? Obviously with a safe enclosed area...
  8. Yep, will call right now and check availability! :D
  9. That's understandable LC, hope to catch up with you an Satu soon! :) Not looking good so far guys, I know of one more definite, but that's still only 6 dogs, not sure we can secure our usual booking and price for that small number of dogs. I'll check in again in a couple of days to see how we're looking. Might call Kepala tomorrow just to check they have availability and possible make a tentative booking. C'mon Kepala-ites!!!! Join the fun!! :D

  12. Hey there! We would love to see you and Scooter again, I say it all depends on his general behaviour and vet's recommendation of course. I know in my case, a lead would make no difference to Dakota, she'd be so excited on the end of it with no freedom she'd probably do more damage, but she's crazy, lol, Scooter might be a little more sensible? Hope he's ok btw, poor little dude!
  13. Hey! You're right indeed SG, we definitely have to book, there just hasn't been a lot of interest so far, so wasn't sure what to do. I think this Sunday is definitely out regardless, and hopefully we'll get some more people keen to come on the 28th. Shall we create a new thread for that specific date and see how we go? Say, if there's at least 10 interested dogs by this Sunday night, I'll call on Monday and book it in? :D
  14. I think we are free on the 28th as well...nancylady? Anyone else????
  15. Just bumping :D C'mon Kepala-ites!!! Let's do this! :D
  16. That is VERY VERY exciting Evolving! :D I hope it all works out for you! We are very keen to attend Kepala this month SG! It's been far too long between visits. Sorry I didn't respond straight away, we just got back from being away camping. At this stage, I'm free on the 14th and 21st, but 21st is probably my preference as we are hosting a huge family BBQ on the 13th, and I might be a little pooped on the 14th, lol. Hopefully we can get some more interest over the next week or so! :) I'll put a link up on the fb page.
  17. Hey SG, Sorry I haven't posted about this! Last Sunday (9th) was actually the 2nd Sunday, hehe, but I had full intentions of planning our day to be this Sunday (16th) as the 9th crept up very quickly! Unfortunately we have something else we need to do this weekend before heading away camping next weekend, so we will have to give it us a miss. If you feel like drumming up some interest, go right ahead, but you'll need to ring and book as we have no permanent booking these days. Sorry for the short notice, I'm not on here much these days. Cheers :D
  18. Hi Everyone! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but someone from Kepala called me this afternoon to cancel our booking as they have had to close all of their runs due to the amount of rain they have got over the last few days. They said only the lagoon pool area and BBQ area are open, so it's hardly worth it Sorry guys, hopefully next month will work out!!
  19. LC- you read my mind! thank-you! :) What does everyone think- shall we do a BBQ again, or just bring a plate?? List of Dogs: Lucycharzie - Satu Mina & Scott - Hunter pip1981- Dakota List of food: Lucycharzie - i'll let you all know what i decide in the next day or so :) pip1981 - T.B.A
  20. Hey DOLers! Just putting it out there for those of you who don't know about our regular meet-ups at Kepala, we are having a day at Kepala tomorrow (Sunday 15th July), including a BBQ, so far we have 15 dogs attending of all breeds, sizes, ages and we'd love to welcome more, whether you've been before or not! It's a great day out, both for the dogs and their owners, so if you don't have any plans, check out the below thread for more information... http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/239241-kepala-sunday-july-15/ Just for some basics, it's $15 per dog for the whole day, we get use of one main large run, and any others that are available (including agility)at the time, we also get exclusive use of the lagoon pool for a few hours, and we have hired out the enclosed BBQ area for lunch. All you need to bring is yourself, your dog and something to add to our lunch! Most of us are there from 10am until 2pm or later. Kepala is located in Diggers Rest, just near the Calder Park raceway, in Victoria. http://www.kepala.com.au/country_club Hope to see you there! :D (please add your name to the list on the other thread to let us know you're coming!)

  24. Glad everyone's on board with the BBQ list :) Thanks guys! I've come down with a horrible cold, so I'm really hoping I'm well by Sunday...my human baby will be staying at home with the OH, so I'm looking forward to a day just about dogs and good company! I'll plan to bring some chicken and all the necessities (I may need a volunteer to be a back up for the necessities though, in case I'm still sick, will update before Sunday) Sausages Hamburgers Veg. burgers/veg. option Chicken Leafy salad Pasta salad Potato salad Coleslaw Bread/bread rolls and butter/margarine sweets x 2? soft drink
  25. Hey Guys! Great to see we will have a good turn-out! Since there hasn't been any responses regarding what we want for lunch and no one has really decided what to bring yet, I'll make the executive decision to have a BBQ again! And, I hope this isn't too forward, but in the past when we have announced a BBQ will take place, we have sometimes lacked in typical BBQ type foods, and ended up with too many snacks and sweets, and not enough proper food for lunch. We also often have leftover unopened packs of chips, etc. at the end of the day. So, I'm always happy to bring along cutlery, plates, serviettes, condiments, etc., but I've decided to make a list of suggested contributions for our BBQ food. Hopefully we can tick things off through the week, and if there's anything important lacking, I'll grab it! Sausages Hamburgers Veg. burgers/veg. option Chicken Leafy salad Pasta salad Potato salad Coleslaw Bread/bread rolls and butter/margarine sweets x 2? soft drink If anyone has any more suggestions, please feel free, I know my list isn't very inventive...lol :) Hope I haven't been too rude to mention this and I look forward to seeing you all!!
