Thanks all, that is good to know. Once again, your advice has been fantastic.

Thanks, Sway I read all of it, and I really dont think my puppies are like that but hadnt seen them do anything like this before, you get overprotective, especially when you see something you havent before!

Whoops try again Persephone with the photo, but that is the ideal description, they look like seals. Got the hanging idea from the Swimmer pups thread, I put the egg foam in the bed and mum destroyed it within 10 mins, so have lots of rolled up towels etc and it is all nice and lumpy so they have to climb ETA, I have removed all newspaper and put in dry bed, towels and their new bedding is something they can really grip in to mum hates having hte bedding flat anyway so it is always lumpy!!!

Hi All I have a litter of BC pups that are a week old. I was not home when they were born (but luckily hubby was), since i got home when they were a day old, I noticed a couple of them sleep with their front legs pointing straight back underneath them. I have read everything i can on swimmer pups as this was my first reaction but it doesnt seem to match with my babies. When the move, they seem to bring their front legs up underneath them and walk, only occasionally when they are very sleepy will they just "push themselves along" however i have been putting them in a pillow slip and hanging them, the will lye on their sides occasionally, there is not sign of htem being flat chested. They are now a week old, I do feel the hanging may be helping but was wondering if any one else has an experience similar. Any thought would be greatly appreciated. Have attached a photo for you to try and see what I mean.

Not that you should be subjected to that sort of treatment, but in the end it was probably a good thing, you now have your gorgeous little puppy!!!!! Congratulations, people like that are not worth the effort.

20th for me Bilbo

Mine came in 5 weeks after having her babies!

Kizzie blessed us with 7 beautiful babies, a little early but I dare say that she and Banjo may have done the dance of love in "hiding" earlier than I saw them as they were all great sizes, about 500g born. I unfortunately was away in Sydney so hubby and some friends of mine that were visiting had to do the midwifing (if that is even a word) but they did a great job and Kizzie is being a great mum. 5 girls, 2 boys all black and white tris. Very happy with this long awaited litter.

Ok, I managed to get all mine done but it took a while for me to work it out. The first mistake I made, when its ask for Breeder Registration Number, I thought that was my actual breeder number but it isnt, it is the number you get given by them, so you really have to enter it twice, once on the first page and once on the second. When it gets to the address and there are 2 lines I just put a space bar in the first line and type the address in the second. Then put in the postcode and it will bring up all the Towns eetc. It is very slow and you need to wait a little in between tabbing to the next fields to help it catch up. Hope this helps!!

That is so cute Missmaddy. I would only weigh him once a day. She looks so relaxed with him!
-
Yay MissMaddy how exciting and yes, what a big boy. Not sure about poo, cant say I ever noticed, so sorry cant say I can help you with that one, except you may not even see him poo if she is licking him constantly.

Can anyone point me in the direction of an extended pedigree template? Thanks

after reading this i think i'll try and find what i'm looking for here Yep and that was the cheapest flight by $700!! SO unless you are importing for a specific bloodline etc, I would definitely be looking closer to home!
-
Great photos jackofhearts so cute!
-
I sent a border collie puppy to NZ last week. The cost with the flight, cage, blood tests, treament, import and export certificates etc cost $2500 plus the cost of the puppy.

My bitch didnt want to have anything to do with hers after about 6 weeks, so would be of no benefit for them to stay longer!!! I agree with dancinbc's they bond with the human mum or dad from 8 weeks on.
