  1. Jaxd - no I wish! lol, picking him up from the airport on Monday lunchtime. Picking the OH up from the airport tonight though, so that's exciting lol. Glad your little guy slept through the night for you!

Didles - how exciting, I can't wait to hear about how the kids react!

Littlehoot - one more day, right?

  2. Well we are picking up lunch time on Saturday. Cant wait. Dont think I will sleep much Friday night.

    :) How exciting!!

    4 days left here!

Got the crate together last night, it's much bigger than I thought it would be lol, not sure if it's going to fit in the bedroom. I also have to figure out how to partition it.

Aslo bought the dog bed with shade from dealsdirect, but after a few cut fingers and many unsound words I decided I'd leave that one til my partner gets home on Saturday morning ;)

  3. I sound of been concerned when they did not want a bank chq, "affects centrelink and child support"

I would dob them in for that aswell

So if you add up the Frenchies and Bulldogs that 26 puppies x $2000 = $52,000

I would too, doesn't centrelink have a fraud line? You probably don't need to give them very much information to cause an investigation.

These people knew before Monday, didn't they Didles? Or at the very least BY Monday. What a disgrace not to call the people who they'd sent puppies to straight away! That's surely what I would be doing.

I'd be doing everything I could to ensure they don't get away with it. :o

  4. Super excited, cant wait. I even have her needles booked in for second and third vaccinations.

Thats good that you are looking but if you dont feel the pup on the weekend is for you, dont feel you have to get it. How did you getting your deposit back, hope it wasnt too stressful.

Wow you are on the ball! lol

5 days left for us. :o I reckon I'll count down on here every day I'm that excited lol

  5. FD26 - 6 days and counting. So very excited for you. Can't wait to see pics. We won't be picking up our little boy til the Friday. But then we are home with him for a week to make sure that he settles in ok and also it will be a little holiday for us as well. I'm just hoping that he goes on Lola's sleep time and good habits.

It's so exciting! I haven't found a job yet (been searching for a few weeks), which I'm relieved about as it means I get to stay home with him hehe. I actually got a call for an interview today and they wanted to do it on MONDAY! I felt a bit silly saying I couldn't because I'd be picking a puppy up from the airport lol, but it'll be Tuesday now. Can't wait to compare pics with ya! :o

Wuffles, what a cutie! I love her colour/markings, just gorgeous!

  6. Didles, I don't know if it will be helpful, but remember you can broaden your search if you want. We only have one local breeder who isn't having pups for quite some time, so we had to look interstate. It opened it up and we were able to find the best breeder we could without having to wait ages.

  7. 6 days left! I'm actually turning from excited to nervous now, lol. It's always been such a long wait that it didn't quite feel real. Now I'm going into mini-panic mode and wondering how he'll get along with the cats, and how we're going to go keeping him mosty inside...anyone else feel this as it got closer?

Didles - any luck on your breeder hunting?

ETA: We had 3 different pups fall through before we got this one! So I know how frustrating it can be. The situations weren't nearly as bad as yours, but it was still a rollercoaster ride for everyone!!

  8. I bought more things today while out shopping for my son's birthday :( I got him a little blanket for his crate, a few toys, a lead, and some tennis balls (although I'm sure I have some around here somewhere lol). Think I'll try and hold off now til he gets here, aside from his food. Cause I'm sending us broke :)

    7 days to go...so excited!

  9. ohhh too cute, he is loving his crate!!!!

Well update he has parvo as well as a couple of things I found the vet (long story) he said that he would be walking from this as one it does not look good and two he is making a complaint to some authorities so have emailed the so called breeder and let them know that I would like my deposit back. The vet was great and honest and confirmed a couple of things I was thinking. So we are back looking for a british bulldog pup.

I will keep looking in here as they are all beautiful puppies.

Oh gosh, what a pain!! Wonder what state the poor pups were living in then :(

I hope you can get your deposit back and find a good breeder in the near future!

  10. Well still no puppy and am starting to think the worst. Hubby rang yesterday to be told that he is at the vets and needs to be there for three days for the vet to clear him, which sounded strange to me considering it was a " reaction to vaccinations" so I went up to our vet yesterday, only at end of street very handy, and they thought that is strange and a bit much as a 3 day stay in there eyes is one very sick puppy.

So another thing the breeder has removed all ads and breeder listings from the dogzonline site (this is were we found them) Which has me thinking big time. But what I dont get is that we physically saw the pups and picked him out. The guys story is changing and he wont lock in a time to pick up as suggested leaving till this Friday coming.

    Very strange.

On another note, boy that pup is tooooo cute. Hope you are very loads of fun with him.

Did hubby ask why he was at the vet? Perhaps you can ask for the vet's phone number as well and give them a ring to see what's happening. I imagine that should be fairly standard anyway. I would think all sorts of things could go wrong when they're pups? Hope he's better for you soon. :(

  11. Today's the day! AT LAST!! Off to fetch Badger in an hour... :):) ;) :)

It's a 2 hour drive so should be back early afternoon..

Just wanted to say thanks to all of you on this thread... Sharing in 'the waiting game' has helped time go faster... :)

    Will post pics soon...

Woohoo! How exciting. How'd the first day go? He's a cutie :cooldance:

  12. How exciting, so what is everyone getting? sorry for being ignorent but I don't look at the first page anymore. Is anyone else like me and can't resist buying stuff? I did my groceries this afternoon and bought another chew toy, one very spoilt puppy winston will be...

:) yes! I went to petbarn to get some cat food today and left with a few bones and a car harness. When I ordered his crate the other day I ended up getting a bed as well. I'm sure there'll be a lot more between now and next week, too.. ;)

I think we have most of the things we need. Just waiting for the crate/bed to show up which should happen this week. I want to get him a few more toys, and I'll need to get his food but forgot to ask what he's eating so I'll do that later on. When we lost our last pup we'd just ordered him a collar and name tag...they showed up while we were burying him :):) After a bit of thought we have decided to use them for this pup, but I think that may make for a hard moment. :cooldance:

It's my son's birthday on Saturday so we're flat out financially trying to organize his party/presents and get all this puppy stuff lol, bit of a stresser! Oh well, both will be worth it in the end. :)

Oh, and we're getting a staffy. :cooldance:

  13. What a cutie, Jake's mum. :( How exciting!! Have you been to Tamworth before? He's about the same age as our little guy...11 more days here and he'll be coming on the plane.

Yes he is cutie FD 26 Very exciting. Yes we have been to Tamworth before but a long time ago. Whereabouts is your little guy coming from?

My old cat lives in Tamworth  Our guy is coming from QLD.

  14. Thanks Everyone! I agree $5 is not worth it! She is being chipped tomorrow! I hope she doesnt yelp to loudly or I might tear up! Lucky my fiance will be there to be the strong one!

FD26 - I haven't notified the council...I wasn't sure it was worth it. I haven't even asked the seller to pay for the micro-chipping. What do you think I should do? When I rang my vet to ask about it they asked straight away if I had got my puppy from a pet shop as if to say that if I had she should of been chipped already.

I would notify the council for sure. Don't expect her to pay to get the microchip, but at least let them know all that's happened.

Thanks...should I be notifying the council that I bought her in? Not the one I live in?

Hmm, I guess I'd be contacting the one where she lives.
