  1. Hey K9, I have tried using your system, the issue I'm having though is that my Great Dane "Turkish" hates being on the lead. When I put him on the lead/rope his tail goes between his legs and he is very stand offish. I have skipped a few feeds to try and get him hungry but even then it doesn't seem to help, should I just feed him while his on the lead a few times to get him used to the lead. Thanks in advance. Great Dane

No I haven't but he runs around and plays with a german sheppard puppy and seems fine, doesn't yelp or seem lame at all. It seems to scare him more than anything, I just think its a bit weird.

    Great Dane

Turkish my great dane has a great nature and loves being around people, I can play with him and rub his belly and all that but as soon as I scratch his back ie. dig the nails in along the spine, not hard though, he runs off and is very stand offish for a while. After doing it he wont let me near him, if I sit next to him he will move away, so if I put him out side for five or so minutes he is fine. He is the same when I try to use a brush on him. Anyone have any idea's why he doesn't like it or what I can do to make it enjoyable to brush hime. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.
  4. Thanks for the replies, I'll try this in the dane thread and see if they have any other ideas. Cheers.
  5. I've yet to meet a dog that thought being bathed was a good thing. haha true, he doesn't even like water that much.
  6. He also hates having a bath so I wonder if it is linked to not liking the feeling of being scratched?? Other than that he is an awesome dog, loves kids and other dogs.
  7. I don't think he has any skin issues, I've been feeding him on Euk and he has a nice shinny coat and his ears and everything look fine, I will be taking him to the vet next week so I will bring it up then. Maybe he just doesn't like the feeling, not sure....

  9. Mine are fed chicken mince + Eukanuba - They also get chicken wings/necks etc I have a 4 month old puppy here, he is fed the above. Are you just feeding Euk on it's own? No I normally put some chicken necks with it, but it is mainly Eukanuba. I have only started giving him the necks and pasta for the last few weeks. He seems to eat anything I put in front of him, except carrot hates it.
  10. Thank you all so much for the replies, I think I'll stick with the eukanuba and just add some chicken necks and pasta. He has lot of growing to do so I don't want to hamper that in any way. Cheers.
  11. No not yet but I dout they would have it up in northern NSW, his not quiet 5 months old yet so I might stick with the eukanuba. Might even buy some Great Barko and just add some to extend the other. His my first dane so I'm not sure how big he should be but I had him weighed at the vet and he was 31Kgs at 4.5 Months so I hope he is growing ok. Thanks for all the replies.
  12. Hello people, I have a Harliquin Great Dane and I have been feeding him eukanuba, but as you would guess it's costing me an arm and a leg, even when I put pasta and chicken necks with it. My question is how do Great Dane's go on Great Barko, I've read a couple of post regarding Great Barko but like to know if anyone has their Great Dane on it. It seems to be a pretty solid dog food. Any help would be greatly appreciated
