  1. Your doggies look so healthy and happy - nice shiny fur and lean!
  2. So glad to read this. I'm sure you will be having lots of cuddles. Yay for Mindy, you and the vet staff who obviously did a fantastic job. Not sure Mindy will be able to wear a bikini again tho' with that scar...... ;)
  3. Hope Mindy continues to improve quickly. Thinking of you both.....
  4. Mindy looks too innocent to be guilty of that sort of destruction! ;)
  5. I'm home for today too. Ziggy has been snoozing steadily since breakfast! Daisy is soooooo cute. Make sure you take heaps of photos of her! *runs off to steal Daisy*
  6. Ok, some pics from this afternoon I was trying to also use the video function on my camera, but have severe shakes. Think I need a tripod (I was trying to capture Ziggy catching his frisbee)
  7. Definitely post Lottie's pics in here! Any new Ava ones?????? I have a few that I need to put in too....... LL- Ziggy is Alfoxton Iggy Pop.
  8. Thanks LL! He looks a bit serious in those photos, but in real life he is still a total goofball. I was disappointed that I couldn't get to the Aussie w/e to meet you and Lottie! I will have to try next year. Have you got any updated Lottie pics
  9. So sorry to hear your sad news dogslife and GayleK GayleK - I have been away so only just caught up with the very sudden death of Benson. I was very shocked because he was so young! Like many on here I certainly enjoyed your stories of his antics and street smarts. He sounded like a truly awesome dog who will be remembered forever. I have already given my boy a big hug today.
  10. Great photos KTB. And what fantastic models you have! They should be on the dogwalk.....
  11. Ziggy doesn't mind that you think he is pretty KTB - he is so confident it wouldn't faze him. Boy - looks like your two monsters were having a blast. Until they realised They Were Being Watched. And Chastised.............
  12. Ok, just bumping with a few pics from today... "Enrichment - kibble on lawn" "ok, I'm on the mat, waiting, where's the treat" "i can do shy with the best of them" "now for a bow"
  13. Poor dandybrush. Some days are just like that! You get the feeling you would be better off just going back to bed......... You should feel better after a decent sleep and can reflect on the whole day a bit more rationally!
  14. Thanks for a useful thread! I am flying myself and dog from Melb to Launceston. But he is coming back by himself with JetPets. It actually surprised me that there is a very organised service to do all this! It certainly has eased my mind a bit.
  15. cute! love his best buddy!
  16. Clastic - too cute! And they look pretty pleased with themselves.....
  17. lilli_star - you can get cheap hoops at Kmart....
  18. KG - Do you use the NILIF principle (nothing in life is free) Basically - although i will not explain too well, nothing 'rewarding' (pats, toys, food, etc) given to dog unless they are doing as asked I used this during a more 'challenging' phase, and it seemed to really work. I think I used 'go to the mat' command, sit, wait etc. It seemed to work pretty well for gaining more control and focus. What KTB has posted is also useful.... Ziggy is very food focused. I never actually use treats in my hand anymore as it is too distracting. I find I can actually use my hand to lure behaviour without food.
  19. Hi KylieGirl Is Echo hitting adolescence? I remember thinking 'why is my dog suddenly disobedient?'. I spoke to his breeder (who also trains). I decided that I wouldn't try so hard, and not try to introduce so much new stuff. Instead, I focused on basics, try to make things a bit more "fun", and also kept training sessions short and tried to always end on a positive. After a few months, Ziggy was ready to please again, and I was able to try more training stuff...... Hope that helps a bit!
  20. What great photos - they really capture doggy personality! I had a few chuckles looking through them. (Wouldn't you love to know what they were all thinking!)
  21. Kyliegirl - he looks stunning and regal, such a beautiful coat Clastic - nice new sig!
  22. I have a crate set up in the lounge area. Although I don't often zip it up with dog inside, it has been very useful to contain the dog when I have not been able to let him out in the back yard, and did not want him roaming about inside. The best two examples have been new years, which was really hot, but I had friends over (who aren't dog people). I had the aircon on inside, put the dog in crate, zipped up, and everyone was happy! The other time was when I has tradies in backyard and in house, just popped dog in crate, and they could get about without dog in their face (he is a bit too social!) I hope to do some dog sports later so I am glad he is used to the crate, even if he only uses it now and then.
  23. My poor sad boy - he really looks quite pathetic! He is still very sleepy and forlorn...
