  1. Well we had a visit to the vet today. The weeping eye is from an in turned eyelid (I think he called it entropian?), which will require surgery. I'll have this done in August when she is going in to be desexed. Until then I just have to keep bathing it, and keep an eye (no pun intended) on any infections which may occur.

The vet took a couple of scrapings from the scabs, and thinks Babe may have some type of mite. He has started her on a course of weekly injections to see if that recitifies the problem. Fingers crossed that will work. In the meantime, I'm just to keep her on her sensitive-skin diet, omega oil and aloveen washes (weekly).

Thanks for replying, and hopefully if any one else's dog has the same symptoms as Babe, this may help them a bit in the future.

    Cheers!

    Lis :)

  2. Hi,

It depends on the type of surgery that is done, but we paid about $1200 for our girl to get done 4 years ago in Brissy. We rang around a few of the vets in our area, and ended up getting it done at the university vet surgery in Brisbane. They did a wonderful job, and even recomended an animal physio who showed us exercises to do with her when we returned home.

I hope this helps a bit, and that you have a successful outcome.

    Cheers!

  3. Hi,

we have an 11 yo Cattle dog who wasn't putting on weight, so the vet suggested puppy food as it's more energy dense, and also lamb flaps or lamb off-cuts that I get from my butcher at Woolworths. She has put on a kilo in a week so far! Like you I don't want her to have too much weight on (she has arthritis) but feel a couple of kilos would be good for especially in winter.

    All the best.

    Cheers!

  4. Hi,

My little girl keeps developing scabs on her skin. They vary in size and location, but she has scratched a couple so bad that they have bled.

She is on chicken necks, Advance sensitive skin dry food & Omega 3, 6 & 9 oil. I have also bought her Aloveen shampoo & conditioner, though have only used this once.

Also, her right eye weeps. Does anyone know why this occurs and how I can fix it.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Cheers!

BTW Babe is an Aussie Bulldog
