  1. My two have cuddles when I go to bed and then with my OH comes to bed they get down on the floor on their own bed. BUT - I will wake up in the middle of the night wondering why I can't move my legs - to find one lying on each side of me. They are so sneaky and quiet I don't even notice them jump up. They wait til my OH and I are asleep....
  2. Hmmm... even the term "pet friendly" is apparently different to what I think of as friendly, though. I have just gone through the process of trying to book a place for a few days, and one real estate agent was most offended when I commented that I did not think that a property which didn't allow dogs inside at all, even crated, and had only wire stock fencing should be advertised as dog friendly. When I asked for a listing of other dog-friendly properties on their books only one of about 15 allowed dogs inside, and a lot of them where in built-up areas. Just what I'd want as a neighbor - a visiting dog barking overnight because it doesn't understand why it's outside! I do agree on that point... I always contact them to find out their conditions and fencing. Sure you have to look around, but we have stayed at heaps of places that have let the dogs inside (just counting them... probably around 8 different places now). Some have bent their rules to let our dogs be crated inside, or not in the bedrooms, or if we vacuum afterwards, etc Totally agree. I find most properties in the fine print say "small dog only" or "outside dog only". This is not pet friendly!!! If you want your dog inside it means they are house trained. Wouldn't there be just as much chance of a child doing damage to the property that there would a dog!! I have bee lucky to find a person who had 2 holiday house close to a dog friendly beach and his houses are actually dog friendly. Dpgs are allowed inside, in the pool and he has not rules about the size or number of dogs. This is pet friendly!!! Are they in QLD?? If so can you PM me details as I would love something like that. When I can afford to take a holiday I would like to know the name of this place as well!
  3. I have 2 Staffords - the first is 2 & 1/2 years old and our pup is 7 months. I think it's a nice age gap - the older one is still 'young' enough to play as much as the puppy wants to. But she also was fully trained before we got the younger one. If I did it again I think it would be the same - there is almost 2 years between them and I think that works. Also - my original girl was well socialised with other dogs and accepted the puppy into our home quite easily. She is just an easy going dog. She was quite 'mothering' when the pup was really young (8 - 12 weeks old.) Good luck!
  4. I know there are plenty of sites when you're looking for accommodation and you have a pet... What about when you have a room to rent in your house and you need to find a person that likes dogs but not have any of their own? It may be a possibility in the near future that I have to find this type of person? Where would I start looking? I have 2 of my own dogs and adding a 3rd would be too many...
  5. Yes - she has been to puppy school and will be doing obedience soon too. I've attached a photo of both my girls.
  6. I'm pretty sure she would have to be forced to have a rest! She is a bundle of energy and I don't want her to do too much too soon. I'm sure my breeder did give me a sheet - I received a lot of information - will check through my folder
  7. Hi, Just after some advice - when can I start taking my 16 week Stafford for walks and how long should they be for? I know that while they are still growing they need to take it easy.. Is a 15 minute walk around the block too much? She is fully vaccinated and ready to explore!
  8. Hi all! Does anyone have a recommendation for a good puppy school in Brisbane's Inner North? I have a 9 week old Staffy that I need to book in. Thanks
