  1. I work at a pet supply shop - not a pet shop, over the christmas break I had a woman come in and ask if we had either a puppy or kitten for sale. When I told her we dont sell pets she said "Damn we are camping and the kids are restless and I tought a puppy or kitten would settle them down'. To this I said that is no reason to get a pet. She cave me a dirty look and walked out the door.

We generally hear that atleast once around the start of holidays where I work too :mad.

  2. I don't know any analysis breakdowns on any of them but I've tried pig, sheep and venision ears for my guy. I found the sheeps ears had a lot more of a smell to them then the pig/venision and seem to give him smelly farts for a day or so after eating it :o. Lately I've been feeding more Venision then pigs because they seem to last him longer then a pigs ear which is about 2minutes . I've been meaning to try the Veggie ears and see how we go on them but everytime I go to buy them I seem to pick something else up instead :o.

  3. If ya see one somewhere don't hestitate to buy it. Last year it took us until the end of summer to get a clam pool as everywhere we went always seemed to be sold out. Then after we finally find one my boy uses it as an over sized drink bowl :o.

  4. thought about it --but before they moved in they renovated the house which of course was always done late at night at midnight they were hammering down nails to sand the floor boards --- They did ask if they were too noisey ?

Did you tell them they were being noisey when they asked? I could also be wrong but aren't there regulations about after hours noise assossiated with building you could have reported?

the hubby works on cars when they're there late they slam every car door thats how we know they're home the kids 3 teenage boys often kick the ball against the

Again have you spoken to them or just assumed they won't listen.

they stand out the front of our fence under the trees wearing hoodies claiming they wanted to see our dogs ( we are foster carers for puppies)

I don't really understand this comment, why is what they wear irrelevent? Are you trying to say they stand right on the otherside of your fence hidden under trees covering there identities? If so can't you contact police reporting suspicious activity on your property?

I do feel sorry for the dog and I know its loves it WHEN they do play with her but it also send my dogs barking because its pitch black and they can only hear I worry all someone else will hear is my dog complain then sadly I wouldn't be able to have foster dogs here either.

Perhaps keep your dogs somewhere where they will be unable to go off at the noises if your worried about your barking dogs recieving complaints. If taken inside when the neighbors play with there dog it will reduce the noise yours hear and reduce the noise others will hear from your dogs if they still happen to bark. Can you also work with your dogs to prevent them barking if they require the dogs to be left outside?

But I don't feel its right to leave a dog alone everyday and sometimes its not them who come home but the mother in law who comes feeds the dog and goes straight away .So I guess they think by doing what they do makes up for what they don't do? These school hoildays they left just after xmas and haven't been back two different family members have taken turns feeding the dog yet noone has played with it or even walked it (that Ive seen) Its a sad case but I guess because it is being fed etc theres'nothing I can do.

I don't mean to sound like a $%!& or anything but surely you can't judge these people for what there doing unless your watching them 24/7. Maybe these other people are taking the dog for walks when your not there, maybe they are playing with the dog and you just can't hear it because there not using a squeeky toy.

In these sort of incidents the problem is usually only a problem because the ones causing it aren't aware of how much noise there actually making. Yes there are some cases of living next to the Neighbors from hell, but most of the time there is just a big lack of communication.

  5. So I need to crawl into a hole for providing a solution to avoid getting bitten by a leashed dog

How is trying to blame the victim a solution. It has already been said that the victim tried to avoid the dogs by going onto the naturestrip. If what I read from you is correct it would be more ideal to walk on the road and possibly cause a car accident which could result in greater injuries or even the lose of a life?

As others have already said the owners should be found and charged and their dog PTS.

  6. In my old house we use to have problems with our next door neighbors cats wondering onto our property. We had a carport in our backyard and would have issues with the cats sleeping on the cars, leaving marks (scratches/paw prints) and having to clean up where they toileted. We spoke to the owners of the cats on numerous occassions, once they had been talked to the cats would not be seen for a day or so then they would be back. We decided since the owners clearly weren't listening or caring we would fix the issue our selves. We caught the cats and turned them over to the pound. After that we didn't have a problem with the cats again so either the owners didn't reclaim there cats or they were kept inside permantly.

My sister has a cat and it isn't allowed outside un supervised. When it does go outside she has it on a long line and harness so it still gets to experience the outside world to some extent and isn't a nuisence to the neighborhood.

  7. That's how I somewhat taught my dog to drop his ball in my hand (sometimes ). I just stood there until he gave it to me, he tends to run up to you chuck the ball then watch you and the ball back and forwards. He's learnt if I say ball or point to his ball then it's not in the right spot for me and he has another go. After a few attempts he gets a bit frustrated and works out where I want it. But then sometimes he doesn't and he grabs his ball and looks for someone else to play ball :o.

  8. Ill have a good look when i get if there's still enough daylight and see if there's any holes or what not. I've sort of ruled out the blinds flapping about as a possible trigger because the windows had apparently been closed that morning and he was left outside. Now i think maybe someone in the street has got a new dog or theres a wandering cat as the corner he is going to gives him a bit of a view down and up the street. Other then that he has me stumped as we haven't used any sort pesticide stuff and neither have the neighbors as they've been on holidays for a bit.

  9. Was a bit hessitent to come inside this morning and when inside wanted to go back out. He had access to let himself in and out later in the day and was happy enough coming and going as he pleased. I also had to a couple things outside and he was constantly there with his ball so he's back to normal in that regard  . Still trying to work out what may of possibly spooked him  .

  10. I understood the storey as though people were coming in having a look and leaving with a new pet. To me it sounds as though they may have been giving animals away too fast without doing the neccessary checks on each new family. Hopefully I'm wrong.

  11. Since getting home he went outside and back to the corner. He didn't want to come back inside and manager to finally get him in, he is now laying in the family room.

There was quite a lot of wind today so he may possibly have been scared by flapping blinds or my sisters cat likes to play swipe at anything that walks past so maybe she hit jerry in the face or something and thats scared him from being inside . I wasn't awake when he was let out this morning so don't know if anything inside had actually happened but I've asked and apparently he was normal so if something has scared him it must of been whilst he was outside.

  12. Thanks guys! We managed to see a vet and he checked eyes, gums, all over his body and tested his temp. He offered a couple treats and he seemed happy enough to eat them. He told me if he hadn't taken the treats he would of done some blood tests. Said nothing our of the ordinary and just to monitor for next 24 hours making sure he is eating/drinking as normal and to make sure he's going to the toilet as normal.
