  1. Yes it is wonderful. Particularly in my breed as they can tend to be wary of strangers if not socialised well. As a breed they can be reserved but my breeders dogs forgot to read that book! Mamma was pushing her way past her puppies to get tummy rubs from my children, just lovely.

Our little man comes home on Feb 16th. 26 days to go!!!

I like that, little miss independent Miah :-). Too cute! When does she come home Jules?

  2. Visit went great Jules! Puppies are gorgeous and I was blown away but the faultless temperaments of the mum and dad. If our boy grows to be half as handsome as his dad I will be very happy.

Our breeder thinks she knows which one will come to us which was lovely, I didnt expect that at this stage. He is so gorgeous and squishable ❤. I can't wait to bring our little man home.

  3. Christina I think the breeder is fabulous! She cares very much about her puppies and their long term well being. In my case the breeder has given me the choice of desexing myself when the pup is older or she can desex him prior to coming home with me at 8 weeks. I am just looking at the pro's and con's.

I completely understand why breeders would choose to desex prior to placing in their new homes. Particularly with the smaller breeds.

  4. Jules & Remy your puppies are adorable! Now that you have met them the countdown begins for you ????. How exciting!

We also have 4 weeks to wait as he can come home on 13th Feb. As this falls on a Wednesday we may need to wait until the Saturday 16th though as our breeder is 1 1/2 hours drive away and with working it is not doable.

I am not sure if we will know which puppy is ours though as the breeder may not decide for a few weeks yet. I am happy to wait and trust her judgement as to which puppy would suit out family best when the time comes. With 3 boys in the litter it will be interesting to see if I get a feel for which one is ours ????.

Who else is madly researching training methods, brushing up on crate & toilet training techniques, looking at puppy schools, and spending far too much money on puppy shopping? I feel like its taking over my life at the moment. I think people are sick of hearing me talk about it!

  5. I recall a recent thread on the pro's and con's of early desexing. I am having some trouble finding it as I am on my phone. Could someone please post the link to the thread?

Our breeder has given us the option of our puppy (Belgian Groenendael) being desexed prior to coming home with us at 8 weeks of age or for us to organise the desexing ourselves when he is older. I have read a lot of conflicting opinions on this subject and I remember that this particular thread was really informative. Thanks!

  6. Sorry Remy I didn't realise that you were also visiting your puppy today, how exciting! Can't wait to see pics!

Heroes Shiloh is divine ????. Nothing like a Belgian baby to make me all clucky ????. I have had a Belgian previously and whilst I have considered other breeds I always came back to them in the end. Can I ask who her breeder is?

  7. I have seen photos of your gorgeous girl Jules, she is too cute! I had a quick look at her blog yesterday, what a lovely way to record the journey that is ahead for you. I look forward to reading about her adventures as she grows ????.

We are still working on names but 'Flynn' is at the top of our list at the moment. I have photos of the litter but as I am not sure which is ours yet I won't post them until it's confirmed. Needless to say they are all adorable!

  8. Ok looks like I can join this thread. We will have a Belgian Shepherd (Groenendael) joining our family in 5 weeks. We will be visiting the breeder on Saturday week and I am so excited I could burst! It's been a long time since I have had a puppy in the house since our last 2 dogs have been adult rescues so I am bracing myself for the puppy mayhem that I know is coming. Bring it on I say ????.
