  1. Royal numbers and info arrived on Wednesday, but now have to wait for bench alocations to be posted on their web site so i know were i am.
  2. FFS Mathew stop your harping and non sense dribble! The dog was a crossbreed, you can not compare and keep blaming the APBT. I've said It before dogs are not born killers they are made by humans, you're targeting the wrong end. This Is not a breed related problem, but a human one How many times does it have to be said they have never been bred for human aggression! NEVER Cross two breeds of unknown origin/history and you get what??? Nothing but a lucky dip I am not blaming the APBT - I am blaming ALL breeds of pitbull. There's just no need, no use, no justification for having one of these fighting dogs. They are trouble just waiting to happen. BIG trouble. Who knows it may have been a labrador crossed with a poodle, did anyboby see the dog? The media seem's to be so sure that it was a ASBT/APBT? But was there DNA testing done on the dog? no! so how does anybody know what breed or cross breed it was. Ban the owners not the breed.
  3. IMO there arn't a lot of breeds that compare to a well bred American Pit Bull Terrier. If the breeding/importation ban is ever lifted I'd love to have a really nicely bred one if I thought I could deal with the DA. They arn't the same as similar breeds and they definetly arn't for everyone. I suggest watching this video, it gives me shivers and makes me want to cry everytime. If someone told me they were going to ban all Border Collie/Border Collie type dogs I don't know what I'd do. This is my breed, I am passionate about them and they work for me, you don't ever have to have a pitbull but they are an old breed with a rich history and up untill recently they were adored by the public. I can't imagine what we would loose with them. what a fantastic video, shows their TRUE nature, APBT is genetical the same as a ASBT,and please correct me if i'm wrong but my understanding is that an ASBT /APBT is closely related to the boxer, and the only way to determaine this breed when not pedegree (pure breed with 3 or more registerd genarations) is through DNA testing and not by the LOOKS of the dog. Absolutely there definately needs to be tougher penalties on owners that own non pedegree cross breeds/purebreed pedegree dogs that attack regardless of the breed type, hopefully this will deter back yard breeders and buyers,(also puppy farming)as you DONT KNOW WHAT YOUR GETTING. leave dog breeding to profesionals that will breed from the best dogs in all area's of temperament, etc, therefore breeding stock can be screened for betterment of the breed standard, ie; not breeding from animals with anxiety, fear, agressive or timid natures as all of these aspects produce insecure and unstable offspring. Back yarders and puppy farmers dont give a shit about these features of the dogs they breed with, it's all about the $ not the improvement of the breed standard. therefore you end up with mongrels NOT PIT BULLS that attack and seriously injure or on this sad instance kill. IMO a cross breed dog is a mongrel if it's not purebreed with a pedegree it's a mongrel, and saying this dosen't nesasarily mean that it's going to be a vicious killer, it's just a tittle. at the end of the day any dog in the wrong hands be be a non desirable whether it be a purebreed pedegree or mixed mongrel,But these CHEAPER dogs from Back yardes are more accessable to undsirable owners. It's about regulatating breeds not banning breeds. If you ban somethingthing and make it illegal then it CAN NOT BE REGULATED it's called the black market, derrrr. oh and Bull Terriers Rock :-) RIP to the Sudanese angle :-(
  4. Was an awsome thing , both are beautiful girls , and to have them both win in show awards on the same day very special, well done Pridey, mini b/t wasn't so lucky, might switch to standards i'll blame Grace, just love her soooooooo much .
  5. absolutely Stolzeinrotts ;) , have a safe and successful weekend of showing everyone, we are all there doing what we love to do, so smile :D . i still get all excited and nervous the night before a show, it's gonna be a long weekend with three days of Fun,Fun,Fun, can't wait though .
  6. perhaps it would help if people mopped up after ther dogs, i lost count of the amount of wees i cleaned up last Sat from around my crate there was even one right behind my chair that my jacket sleeve had fallen into the dogs owner could have at least told me that it was there, i do understand that some times it is a bit hard to get to a mop with a dog but a bit of OH&S curtousy please . my bitch was alseep in her crate so i know that it wasn't her. GOOD LUCK sway stay onya feet .
  7. I can imagine it would be a MASIVE job to sort through HUNDREDS and HUNDREDS of entries, well done to ALL the SHOW SECRETARIES my hat goes off to you all, with out you the show would not go on, so as a newbie to the world of showing dogs, i
  8. Sorry! Must admit I wasn't paying a lot of attention Well done, it was a lovely baby and a big line up to win from thanks weisnjac, was definately not expecting it
  9. The baby in group was my mini bull terrier the baby bull terrier was absent well done to my little girl Sarah and all the other winners on the day.
  10. The dogs are issued a bench each, you can put your crate on top of that - you supply the crate. I will try and find some pictures for you to show you what it looks like. Here are some pictures of the Royal, however the blue benches shown are the old ones. The new ones are melamine - Just think 3 sided shelf with 3 sides back and both sides. Bench pictures thanks Sway i knew about the benches as i can remember seeing them from years gone by walking through the dog pavillion but wasn't to sure about who supplied the crate, would hate to have got there without my crate thinking that they supplied it, and vise versa carring around a crate to find that i didn't need it , I would also like to say thank you for sharing you knowledge, you have answered a couple of my questions now and being new to the world of showing dogs i do realy appriciate it, your a life saver, cheers ;)
  11. Feel a bit silly asking this but could someone tell me if we use our own crates or does the show supply them, this is my first royal so not sure how this side of things work. thanks :D
  12. that realy sux big time, i have only been showing for a few months now and would have thought that we're all just "one big family" all out at the shows on the weekend with our beloved furkids having a good time socialising , but obviously not for someone they thought they'd pick up a five finger discount. Well i hope they have good use for it at home cause i reacon they wouldn't want to bring it to a show as i'm sure that those people that know the pen would reconise it. Bloody disgusting to even think about stealing from someone. But anyway i'll take this as a warning and lock my valuebles up in my car and not leave them on top of my crates for others to help themselves. I do hope that these people or person has no brain and turns up with it at the next show to use it, and that it is reacognised and it gets returned to the owner.
  13. thanks Sway so i should perhaps start drinking now then if it's that big , only joking. bit excited though :D
  14. Have entries closed? and Is there any way we can find out the number of entrants broken down into breed numbers/classes?:D This is my first royal so was a bit curious as to how big it'll be. I have a puppy bitch and have also entered in the sweepstakes.....not looking forward to the toileting area though from what i can tell it's a bit on the nose by the end of the week, great cause i'm on the last day.
  15. GOOD LUCK to all those "group 7" dogs entered :D hope you all have a great day and come with the goods and thank you to the committee for allowing late entries, it's a good thing financialy for the club, just a shame my dogs are group 2,haha . I'll get the hang of what i can enter and what i can't one day , Cheers.
  16. I have decided not to enter as i have been told off by "the headmaster", LOL. I do usualy have my entries in the week before closing date, but as this shows entry date was extended i thought 'what the heck' may as well enter, but then relised that i cant as it is a group 7 show only and i'm group 2 i thought that it was an all breeds show, oops .i have only been to 3 shows so still pretty new to how things work, can be very confusing to new people that have to figure things out for themselves, but i do hope that all goes well and enterants get there numbers on time. good luck to those who have entered.;)
  17. I suppose then that Mini Bull Terrier's are also in the group of "knock backs"? I was a bit unsure if the show was open to all breeds other than Sporting dogs still new to all this and i find that understanding who can and who can't enter certain shows a bit confusing, perfect example i thought that the recent show at KCC Park held by the Junior KC was for junior handlers only so i didn't enter, silly me.
  18. i will be at KCC Park on Saturday. how would i find Paula to personaly hand deliver her my entry in the morning? will there be a club banner were she will be set up? please advise Regards Sariluda Thanks Havasneeze,I will look out for you allJust look for the Schipperke people. 20. stealing horse rugs has been going on for 20 years or more, i used to have to have a padded chain curcingle sewn to my rugs and paddlock them along with front straps and leg straps we would also have our phone numbers painted on them and also the horses name, just to try to deter the theives. many times we would go down to the paddock to find rugs were gone and our horses naked .
  21. Great to hear you had a great day, well done on completing your 3rd show :D thanks Gumnut :D , looking forward to next saturdays show @KCC
