  1. our jack russell /mini foxy cross, she is called jess, picked her up on Saturday. 8 weeks old.
  2. Thanks for all the posts and info. We ended up getting a female jack russell cross mini foxy. Her name is jess First two nights were absolutely horrible. She cried all the time. She seemed to get stressed and would cry when she went to the toilet in her enclosure. ( we have an excerise pen for her to sleep in.) We tried a toilet pad which she doesn't seem to like, we finally resorted to a cat litter tray and cat litter, which she doesn't seem to mind so much. I live 8kms from work, so will try and come home a few times a week during lunch to see how she is. We are trying to schedule our week off to simulate us being away to see how she copes. She slept most of today, although we did take her out a few times for exercise in the backyard. thanks
  3. thanks for the info, interesting reading but it does make sense. It seems to imply you can raise a puppy properly when working full time, by giving it food int kong chew toys instead, lots of other good points too.
  4. Hi Everyone Thought I would post here. My wife and eye have started thinking about getting a puppy, however we both work full time. After having a think about it we are starting to think maybe we should get a 1 yr old rescue dog, or from the pound. We are interested in getting a jack russell, or other small dog. My wife did have a jack russell cross foxy when she was growing up. Just wanted to confirm is it really basically impossible raising a puppy without someone coming home each lunch time? We had thought about use a crate type of enclosure, but thought in the long run it really would be too hard for us to come home each lunch, Any info or opinions would be great. thanks
