  1. Hi who is running this? As it an NACSW ORT test?
  2. I just took the plunge and enrolled into the introduction to nose work course.
  3. Hi silentchild Out of interest, what training method does she use for identification of the scent? What is the reward system? What response do you train? - Active? Passive? From reading the NACSW Rules I think a passive response is the best. This way you don't risk loosing points for contaminating an area compared to dogs trained with an active response. I quite like Andrew Ramsey's "obedience to odour" response where the dog focus on the scent. This way you will not have issues if the scent is located out of the dogs reach. What was the before/after result you had? Thanks. A lot of questions so I appreciate any response.
  4. Does anyone have any feedback on the nose work courses by Margaret Simek? - NW101: Introduction to Nosework - NW240: Nosework Challenges http://www.fenzidogsportsacademy.com/index.php/people/9-people/16-margaret-simek
  5. Two different languages even for the same command shouldn't be a problem for a dog. My dog has some unique commands in different languages, as well as two different words/languages for the same command e.g. finish, owari. (English/Japanese) I didn't think two words for the same command was a good idea, but my dog doesn't have any problems.
  6. Here is the finished product.
  7. Hi, I am just starting out in this sport and have already seen a few different training methods. I just read your comment below. Can you please expand on why? What exactly do you mean by mixing the reward with the target odour? Thanks.
  8. WreckitWhippet is there anything I should consider in my design? What features do you like the most?
  9. Carrington Kennels looks great as well. http://www.carringtonkennels.com.au/
  10. I found a timber enclosure while searching the interweb. At $2670 only the best for your dog. http://www.petenclosure.com.au/dog-runs-enclosure-with-timber-house-roof-over-all.html
  11. That's great. I didn't find this in my searching.
  12. Hi Esky the husky, I'm in contact with people on eBay and Gumtree. Thanks for the thought though.
  13. Hi, can you recommend anyone to build the below dog pen I sketched up? The current quote has been $1750 for L 4m, W 2.3m H 2.1m at gable peak. Made from colourbond and galvanized steel tube frame. There may be cheaper DIY solutions out there, but I'm after something that is pre made.
  14. Thanks for the feedback. I'll make all the updates by the weekend.
  15. Thanks everyone. I have just made the first round of updates and also changed the sharing permissions on the link. There are some schools I have not researched in detail so there may be missing information at the moment. As time allows I'll try and follow every link to ensure it's accurate.
