  1. Not trying for a BARF diet. Just feeding her what she likes at the moment. So I guess you could say I am just feeding her human food mixed in with some Hills Dry Food.
  2. Hi Everyone, I was just after everyone’s views on the diet I am currently using for my 16 week old Beagle (Bella). For breakfast she gets 1 and ½ Weetbix with Puppy Milk For lunch she usually gets a chicken neck and a small handful of dry (Hills Science Diet Puppy). Then for dinner she gets a bowl full of cooked beef mince (human grade) with mixed veggies and mixed in with a handful of dry (Hills Science Diet Puppy) Do you think this is all ok for her? Should I change or add anything? Thanks for your time. Ben
  3. Just give it to her/him supervised for 5 minutes. The dog will chew the meat off it and then take it off her. Safety First
  4. Ahhhhh ok. I stand corrected. Thanks for clearing that up.
  5. They sell cooked lamb shanks at pet barn. So I guess they are ok. I have given my dog a few and never had any problems. She just chews all the meat off it. I guess just simply supervise your dogs while giving them any bones.
  6. Thankyou very much for all your help
  7. Last night we had some success. We cooked up some human mince with vegies, gravy and a few pieces of pasta. She ate the entire bowl (which is something she hasn't done for a few weeks!) YAY!
  8. We tried to give her a tin of "my dog" but she wouldn't eat it either
  9. Well she does eat but very very small amounts. Like two full spoons max. We don't really give her snacks during the day but we have been worried lately so we have been feeding her chicken necks during the day. Approx 2 or 3 per day. Last night my OH gave her a chicken neck which she ate, so we gave her another one and she buried it. This morning when she was let out she dug it back up and ate it.
  10. She is very active. Always running around, it’s almost impossible to tire her out. She does eat grass and things in the garden sometimes but I haven't noticed her eating overly much grass. We mentioned it to the vet and he said she looks ok, doesn't seem dehydrated. And when he gave her some liver treats she gulped them down. She gets wormed every 2 weeks.
  11. We are still having problems feeding our beagle puppy She doesn't eat very much at all. She doesn't touch dry food or any kind of pet food. She will eat a little bit of chicken mince. And she will eat chicken necks but only two at a time. She looks alot smaller then other beagle pups I have seen pictures of
  12. I got some chicken mince from petbarn which she likes I also got her some chicken necks. I gave her one last night and she just about swollowed it whole! :D Is this normal?
  13. They have heaps of stuff there! Chicken necks, brisket bones, roo mince, chicken mince. I bought 1 kg of chicken mince for $1.45 Most of the bones etc are frozen in 2-5kg bags.
  14. Where abouts is this? Petbarn is located near Coombes Drive (i think the major street is called Correen Ave), Penrith. I will let you know what they have when I get back from lunch.
  15. What about petbarn? The one near Penrith has a huge fridge section with lots of meat in it. I am going to have a look at lunch today.
  16. Dinner: 3-4 chicken wings As in whole raw chicken wings? I thought that the bones in the chicken wings would be bad for her???
  17. We have a 11 week old Bealge Puppy named Bella. She has become very fussy and only likes to eat chicken. Even when we cover chicken with puppy food she will just pick out the chicken pieces. We have tried getting her to eat all kinds of puppy food ranging from Pedigree to Hills, but she just likes chicken. We are sick of cooking chicken drumsticks then ripping off the chicken for her to eat. I am worried she will get under weight or miss nutrients that are in the puppy food. We also buy her bones which she loves, but there isn't much meat on them. Any help would be great. Thanks Ben
