  1. Firstly, I am not a breeder - I run a rescue, and we have a crossbreed litter in our care where all the pups are doing fine and hitting all normal milestones, but one of the pups has stopped gaining any weight.

She is growing in length and height (albeit not at the same rate as the others), and mum is NOT pushing her away or acting untoward about her.

The pup is eating both mushy tinned Science Diet Puppy and feeding just fine off mum. She has a good appetite, and is tenacious enough to get herself into prime positions at the boobie buffet, and when snuggling with her littermates.

Mum dog came to us from a pound at about 7.5 weeks pregnant. She had worms and Coccidia, and then also developed Kennel Cough - all of which have now been treated and cleared up.

All of the pups have been wormed and treated prophylactically for Coccidia - a couple had mild cases of Kennel Cough, and that has cleared up also. The pup in question did not show any signs of having Kennel Cough.

We have been talking to our vets about this pup, and they have come up blank as to what the problem may be - after ruling out all of the above possibilities.

Has anyone here have any idea what may be going on with this pup? Seen similar before? The pup was always the smallest of the litter, but was gaining weight OK up until this last week.

Here is a pic of the pup in question taken on Sunday... sorry about the squint, she was facing the sun...

and here is one of one of the other pups - for a comparison...

Any advice will be gratefully received...

    Thanks

  3. We had a lovely bull terrier bitch and pups sent to us via our Pregnant Paws program.

Mum was eclamptic and given poor nutrition - pups were 12 days old.

This mum was 9 years old and the owners felt she was "menopausal" and surprised she had a "change of life" litter.

Mum was returned to her owners desexed, vacc'd and chipped/registered. Puppies were rehomed by us with all vet work done.

    xx LP xx

  4. Bluey is adorable - what a charmer he is and so beautifully behaved.

    He loves learning anything new.

xxx Hugs to all from Bluey xxx

All the pups are doing well. Some are rather chunky and almost roly poly :-)

The vet is very pleased with their progress.

Both mums are happy to leave their pups and go for a play and walk with their human carers.

  6. Hi Lillypilly,

Penny is here because of you remember! She loved her time with you & NSW Animal Rescue before she could come here. I think she spent a few weeks with you whilst she was desexed & health checked & she was so well looked after. When I worried if it would be fair to bring her here with other dogs or go to a home where she was the only dog you reassured me to try & the rest is history!

Would you believe that was already 4 & 1/2 years ago

Hi Esky, I sure do remember the pretty little Penny. It really does not seem like 4 & 1/2 yesars ago. We sure have had some adventures in that time. Luv and prayers to you, Penny and the crew.

  7. This type of animal exploitation is a violation of animal rights yet the penalties given to the abuser are a joke.

The animals involved suffer from damaged and/or ruptured internal pelvic organs, bones fractured and ligaments ripped from the bones - all while the animal is conscious.

To the abused little one we recently sent to the bridge - you are safe now and free from fear and pain. Your photos are just too graphic to share on a public forum.

The abusing scum walk free which is no justice for the abused animals.

  8. oh lillypilly, thats so funny...lmao.

you are all so 'full of bravado hiding behind fake names.

You want to believe the worst then so be it.

I have wasted enough of my precious time on this and will not give any of you any more.

I am leaving now knowing that you will continue to bitch and slander behind our backs and that when you find someone else to bitch about and slander you will have forgotten about us.

Well at least you and 'the girls' can read about the "bitching and slander" on this forum. Your 'girls' spew venom within closed forums.

  9. You obviously had Carol and Jaimis phone numbers yet not once did any of you call to let them know that advertising to help with stray animals was wrong, not once! instead you've gone off on this rampage. Hell, one of you even had a friend call Carol and try to set her up with a false story of a stray dog....WTF?

Err the foul mouth 'girl' would have said f^@# off and hang up - she can not handle conflict.

All of you in this forum have been involved in rescue for a very long time I would think that you would be more mentors than linch mobs. I think you should all take a bloody good look at yourselves and the way you treat others.

Can't be a mentor to the 'girls' who know it all!!

  10. well see no im not, the whole point is that ALL animals should be taken to the pound yes? SO i should have taken a feral stray soon to be mum to the pound to ultimately end up being pts as she couldnt be rehomed, no rescue wouldve taken her so by law i should have sentenced her and her babies to death am i right?

Take the mama cat to the pound and ask for a duty of care - all LEGAL then!

  11. After I had read the gumtree ads you were rung late yesterday afternoon TS by a colleague of mine who pretended she had found a small white fluffy dog.

You stated you needed the microchip number of the animal and contact details of my colleague emailed/sms'd to you.

No advice re getting this 'stray' back to the rightful owner was given whatsoever.

  12. We've had it up for less than a week, and don't worry, I'll let all future cats and dogs die at the hands of the pounds!! Happy??

Acting responsibly and abiding by the law does not make anyone happy about animals being impounded and that's a very immature attitude to take.

People need to work within the limits of the law.

Mazeltov Plan B! The law is ignored by many and then they plead ignorance

  13. @ TS The facebook page with your phone number on it states:

"We are a network of foster carers in Sydney willing to help if you've found some dumped kittens, or a stray friendly cat that you don't wish to take to the pound"

"WE ARE NOT A RESCUE! We are a network of foster carers in Sydney willing to help if you've found some dumped kittens, or a stray friendly cat that you don't wish to take to the pound. If a relative has died and you need to rehome their pet, we are here for you also. We will care for any cats/kittens in need until a rescue becomes available with financial backing to take them on, guaranteeing them to be well looked after until they can find safe secure homes.

If you need to call someone if you find a kitten/cat, you can call any of the following people:"

Names/numbers deliberately not included by me!

    Edited for some clarity

Yes, and because I didn't know it was illegal, I've since removed the page!! Happy??

Hmmm it is still up on facebook! You will need to do a lot of editing.
